Last Batman game for Rocksteady, will work on something totally new next.
There will be a brand new villain, something made by Rocksteady that they say will be the ultimate test for Batman (That's the Arkham Knight)
Batmobile can be called at any moment with a button.
The city streets are much wider to allow for the batmobile. You will rocket jump off ramps and do all sorts of cool maneuvers.
You can eject jump out of the batmobile right into a super fast glide straight through the glass of a building to knock out enemies. They said glass breaking will be a big new thing.
New moves include being able to use all your gadgets during flight. You now have a counter throw where you counter a guy and throw him into another guy. A new quick ground takedown. A quick backflip where you then throw a batarang in an enemies face.
For the predator sections you can now chain takedowns of up to four enemies. For instance pop out of a grate and take one guy, jump to the next and so on. You can now enter grates from a distance, he will automatically do a jump or roll to enter them.
Riddler challenges seem to be car based. The first one has you enter a sort of Riddler race track where you have to activate walls and ramps, when you activate one another closes so as you drive you have to be constantly turning on and off these ramps as you navigate the course.
Batmobile fires missles and stun guns. It destroys anything it touches so if you bump into cars the cars go flying. It's basically unstoppable.
Story is that after Joker's death all the criminals decided to work together and their plan comes together this night where they plan to kill batman. The article talks mostly about Scarecrow, he scattered bombs throughout Gotham.
Oracle will play a larger role, you get to visit her base and talk to her, tons of batman easter eggs included.
Kevin Conroy is Batman, all the previous voice actors are back.
Gotham City is 5 times bigger than AC. Split into 3 areas. NO LOAD TIMES at all, entering buildings is seemless.
They spend a bunch of time talking about how detailed the models are, one character has more polygons than the environment of Asylum.
Batman will start off with the old batsuit and upgrade at some point in the game.
The Arkham Knight looks like Batman without a cape, you can't really see him since he is in shadows, but you can see the outline of the ears which are shorter than Batman's and his eyes glow blue. He has some pretty big gadgets around his belt and legs.
- All quickfire gadgets can now be used during flight.
- Combat tweaks (note: Not enough time to go over these in detail. for example, you can throw by tilting left towards the opponent and hitting counter)
- did I mention the screenshots are gorgeous?
- Arkham Knight isn't just the name of the game.. it's also the name of the [new] villain.
- Fear Takedowns. ie, burst out of grate, action slows down allowing you to target another goon for another attack and so on. Can be used on groups up to 3 as long as they're close enough together and no one has already spotted Batman.
- They seem to try to tackle the old school Arkham issue of "open door - black screen loading"
- The game looks gorgeous. Huge.
-"This is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer."
- You can launch into a fast glide from the Batmobile just like the trailer.
EDIT: More from neogaf
-No more pre-rendered cinematics everything is done in engine
-The larger riots can have up to 50 people flipping cars and looting stores.
Characters
-Things such as Gordon's trench coat and Batman's cape now have Apex cloth physics. They react realistically to changes in wind and movement
-When it rains rains bead of water run down Batman's suit tracing every groove
-The wrinkles on Gordon's face crinkle as he talks
The City
-The city is as detailed as ever with realistic moving clouds with the moon shining through
-Halloween characters and balloons litter the street adding a creepy vibe
-Neon signs of the various shops shine brightly around the city
-The skyline has helicopters and blimps flying through it
-Steam puffs out of the sewers in a realistic way
You can now use the linear launcher on anything to create ziplines. This is done in mid flight so you can quickly land where you want.
All enemies now have the ability to grapple Batman, not just big guys.
Roads wont have many vehicles, just some thug cars and cop cruisers
There can be enemy riots, up to 50 enemies on screen at once.
More Riddler type challenges than just racing.
Some story spoilers from the demo GI saw.
Starts off with the evacuation of Gotham cause Scarecrow has put fear toxin bombs all over
Each villain is doing their own mission to cause chaos and spread Batman thin.
Two-Face and Pengiun are shooting cops in the streets.
Batman sees the batsignal and meets Gordon at the roof, fills him in on the scarecrow issue and Gordon gets a call from Barbara saying she is out of the city.
Batman goes off to find scarecrow thugs and contacts Barbara who is of course still in the city helping him out.
He helps some police when an armored vehicle comes through the streets blowing up police cars, batman hops into the batmobile and takes down the vehicle. Out of the wreckage a scarecrow thug tries to throw fear toxin at batman but he catches it and gets the info he wants.
He takes a detour to find a riddler thug, you know the drill, this leads him into an underground race track, lab thing where Riddler shows up and says he will be testing you all night long.
He beats the race track, Riddler says he will use the data he learned to make much harder tracks later.
He next visits the clock tower oracle is in, it has a statue head that you pull back like Adam West's switch, no red button, its a scanner instead. This reveals the hidden room. She is analyzing the toxin from the thug. It has a radiation she can track, Batman needs to reach an antennae in the Falcone shipping yard.
He beats up some goons and puts the tracker on the antennae. As he walks out he is being shot at buy a guy in a militaristic Batsuit flying through the air at him. The batsuit has a big A on it. He knocks down Batman, stomps on him and says "you aren't going anywhere". He points his gun at Batman's head and the screen fades to black and you hear a gunshot. End of demo.
I like that there are finally no more pre-rendered cinematics. That means we'll get to see out alternate costume in cutscenes.
EDIT: Even more details from CVG.com (some might already be mentioned above)
Speaking to the publication Rocksteady's Sefton Hill said the studio is aiming to take the fantasy of being Batman "one step further."
"The Arkham games have always been about providing that power fantasy, about being and feeling like Batman," he said, "we're going to take it further with the addition of the Batmobile and the bigger city."
Hill continued: "We've known it's what people want. When you're Batman you do think Batmobile, It's the one key thing we felt we really always wanted to do. And also that refreshes the whole experience, which I really think it does. What we're always trying to do is [make] every game feel like a new game rather than another episode of the last one".
Rocksteady is calling the third entry in the series the "explosive finale" for the late timeline Batman Arkham stories, seemingly leaving the door open for more games set earlier in Batman's career, much like Warner Bros. Montreal's Arkham Origins.
Rocksteady, however, want's to go out with a bang. "We kind of feel this is the natural end to the story," Hill said. "We really want to go out in style."
"We're excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman's abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City."

Rocksteady rethought the entire city structure to accommodate the Batmobile and street traffic
Arkham Knight is built on a "juiced up" version of the a custom Unreal Engine to make use of the Xbox One and PS4.
By not being cross-gen they've been able to push what the machines can do
Rocksteady describe Arkham Knight as "a real, genuine next-gen game"
There is no multiplayer in Arkham Knight. Rocksteady is focused on "making the best single-player experience it can" and doesn't feel it needs multiplayer.
"Arkham Knight" is also the name of a new archrival that was created from scratch by DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, known for his work on Green Lantern and Justice League.
The character will "really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways"
Kevin Conroy is going to be voicing Batman, Nolan North will be boicing Penguin, Wally Wingert will be doing Riddler, Tara Strong returns as Harley Quinn and Troy Baker will be Two-Face
Gameplay
Batman begins with his traditional Arkham City suite but gets a darker plated one later in the game. It adds new abilities and has continuity with the look of the Batmobile
Arkham Knight is the end "of the later timeline"
Game Informer says Rocksteady isn't saying what's next but "it's most definitely not Batman related"
The finale has been in mind since the development of Arkham City
Arkham Knight takes place in a new central zone of Gotham City, which is split into three island and is in total roughly five times the size of Arkham City
Rocksteady is emphasising the detail is more important than the scale of the world. They don't want to create the biggest open-world, they want to create the richest, densest and most vibrant
There is more space in between buildings to make the environments "traffic-friendly" and it becomes more fun to glide around
Game Informer says the level of details is some of the most impressive its seen
Arkham Knight takes place one year after Arkham City
Joker is dead and crime rate has declined
Batman continues to work on tech to fight crime, even with less of it around
He knows something isn't right, but needs to wait to see what happens
With the Joker gone, other key villains have spent time coming together to plan Batman's downfall
Each villain has his/her own mission in the city and it's intended to spread Batman thin
Scarecrow has threatened to blow up bombs in gotham and cover it with a new version of his fear toxin, so the city is ordered to evac
Only criminals remain in the city; Gordon and his forces have been overwhelmed
In the demo there are between four and five times the number of thugs in Gotham City than in Arkham
Riots can feature up to 50 characters destroying things
Two-Face and Penguin are killing cops, because they can
Batman meets with Gordon and gives him tech to stay in contact
All of the game's cutscenes take place in-engine, there are no pre-rendered cinematics. They are seamlessly integrated.
Rocksteady is trying to take the level of in-game detail to the pre-rendered level
Albert Feliu, lead character artist, says the polygon count on one character in Arkham Knight is as big as the count of the whole Arkham Asylum environment
The detail in Gordon's face shows his age and it wrinkles as he talks
Apex cloth physics are being used on Batman's cape and Gordon's trench coat so they react properly to wind and movement
Although Jim Gordon believes she's gone, his daughter Barbara, a.k.a. Oracle is in the city and helping Batman
Oracle is a "strong character" and is a character Batman physically meets as opposed to just a voice he hears
She knows Batman's identity and is used to give him a human side
Arkhamverse Barbara lines up with comic continuity in that she was paralysed by the Joker
Batman knows Barbara is in the city and Jim Gordon believes she is not, the deception may become a plot point
A new streamlined control option is used to tell batman to sprint to the nearest ledge and dive straight down
Grapnel Gun now has a Mark 2 boost upgrade and slingshots Batman
Line launcher returns to give Batman perch points and ziplines can be created instantly while flying around
All quickfire gadgets, such as Batarangs, can be used in mid-air
The classic counter system also returns. Rocksteady doesn't want to overcomplicate it as it thinks the strength is in the simplicity
However, it has enhanced it somewhat with new features
Normal goons can now do the charge and tackle only the larger enemies could in previous games
A well timed backflip and Batarang can be used to instantly KO enemies doing a charge
Batman now has quick ground strikes but full ground takedowns are still available, though they take longer to execute
Batman can glide through glass surfaces
He has throw counters that grabs enemies and launches them into another for double damage
Hazards in the environment such as power generators can be mixed into combat
Riddler appears in the demo to put the Batmobile to the test in a three-lap time trial through the underground tunnels of Gotham, but to the only way to make it through is to use a special radar pulse that alters parts of the track
Players click the left stick to move obstacles while driving at high speeds and the course gets difficult with every lap
Riddler has a plan for Batman and the city too, beyond testing his skills
Batman still has detective vision
He can access grates from further away, when in range a button prompt appears and he'll roll forward to get under it
From a grate it's possible to initiate multiple takedowns, as one enemy is grabbed the action slows and the camera can be pointed in the direction of another enemy.
"Fear Takedowns" can be used on groups of three enemies as long as they're close together and none of them spot Batman
The demo ends with a mysterious villain describes as a "militaristic Batman" with what looks like an "Arkham A" on his chest appears to land a jump kick on Batman and stomp him. He points a gun at Batman and the screen fades to black as the shot is fired.
Batmobile
Batmobile is designed to be "the best car in any game ever", it takes up around 160mb of memory in game and will just about fit in an Xbox 360 (if that was the whole game). There are hundreds of thousands of polygons, as well as textures and shaders used on it
Batmobile is the only car Batman has access to in the game
It zooms to your location at the touch of the button
It can do burnouts, jumps, boosts and "rotate in a circle at a full stop to get you pointed in the right direction
It is bulletproof and can smash through barricades, trees and building corners
Enemies will try and jump out of its way
Driving gameplay is balanced with out-of-car gameplay so players don't just stay in it all the time
While Batmobile has speed and damage Batman has a better freedom of movement and gadgets,
Players can swap between the two based on what the job requires
Batmobile can missile lock and fire an immobilizer at enemy vehicles
Batmobile is designed to segue perfectly with Batman and his navigational skills
When within range of a key point Batman can eject out of the Batmobile and launch himself into a fast glide
So, I guess that since they're announcing it now...and not waiting until E3, that when E3 rolls around, we will be watching gameplay videos. An announcement at E3 would have been pretty much it, with a trailer. But now, I guess it's pretty certain that we'll be seeing it in action there.
I'm glad I got the PS4 last month,EA UFC sometime in spring/Destiny in September/Batman Arkham Knight in mid October and then WWE2K15 sometime in late October or early November
But as for this game, finally the Batmobile. Very excited for this game. I did not get Origins just because I heard it was good but not great. I may pick it up now that it is cheaper. But I loved the first two, and can't wait to play this one. And I assume this one will be Jokerless.

It'll be funner after beating the story and not hunting riddler stuff,Instead of just beating up thugs we can now have fun with Batmobile,Pulling off stunts and whatever crazy stuff we could do
Hopefully there's a car chase section, going after Two-Face's/Penguin's gang. There was something in Batman Vengeance but that was just pressing a button to shoot out cables, turning around corners.
