Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 4

I have a feeling we will see the Rainbow Monster in a game before a Joker free game.

If we would every get a Beyond game, they would probably totally base it on Return of the Joker.

The Mobile game is pretty cool.

The biggest thing I don't like is that you can't avoid attacks. All you can do is "block" but that still takes damage. In Arkham Lockdown you could at least move to the side and avoid attacks.

Well, downloaded the iOS game...but suddenly get hit with a "your device is not supported message" and then get to the main screen where I can't see anything because it's zoomed in too large. It was kinda weird because iPod Touch 4g is listed as compatible in the app store.

I guess I'll just wait and see if it gets patched at some point.

Joker definitely has some sort of leverage over Bane in that clip, has someone he cares about hooked up to.a bomb it seems like. I don't think the Joker will be the mastermind over the 8 assassins plan but he will definitely have a large side story probably to do with the bombs that he has rigged all over Gotham. His achievement points are larger because he will be the last boss fight. That doesnt mean he is the main bad guy of the story. You could take down all the assassins and Black Mask and then go finish off the Joker. After hearing some of Baker and Smith's performances, I hope they have quite a few encounters with each other.

I doubt it's anything related to Joker having someone Bane cares about in danger. I'm betting that Joker had the building they were in rigged. So if Bane killed Batman before Joker could have his fun. He would just blow himself and Bane to hell.

The woman in the Mobile Trailer IS Copperhead. They have different skins for the villians. I've already encountered two different ones for Deathstroke and Copperhead.

I hope that's right because that's way better

If Joker ends up being the next Arkham game not only would it seem uninspired, but it would pretty much ruin the ending to Arkham City. It'd be nice if they would try something new especially when the other villains aren't getting their due. I mean look at Two-Face. He's arguably Batman's second greatest foe, but he was hardly in Arkham City. You save Catwoman from him at the beginning and then he disappears for the rest of the main game.

It does make one curious as to

How Harley being pregnant is going to factor in. Unless they do a massive time jump between Arkham City and Arkham 3, I don't see what use a baby Joker is going to have.

I thought she...

miscarried? Or didn't I pay attention?

Did she? I only remember the one specific Easter egg.

Well, she might be, she might not be. This is what I found.

Included as an easter egg in the manager's office of the Steel Mill, there is a crib with Scarface painted as the Joker inside, surrounded by dozens of negative pregnancy tests accompanied by a single positive pregnancy test, which indicates that she had a miscarriage or after several failed attempts she finally got pregnant just before Joker died.

That was a slight blessing though, given this series' Two-Face is up there with the worst Two-Face characterisations ever.

But yes, f*%k the Joker. The only reason he appears as often as he does is because of all of Batman's villains he's the easiest to write.

Apart from being severely under used, what was so bad about his characterization?

At least he wasn't anywhere near as bad as Bane.

The FEELS from that TV spot...Amazing. :batty::up:

Just about everything really. Something writers always do when they don't understand Two-Face is for the coin to be a decider not between good and evil, or my preferred take of restrained good and vigilantism, is to make it so it is only between bad and worse. Catwoman is strung up in the courtroom - well-written Two-Face would've flipped the coin to decide between killing her or representing her in court. But what happened was between killing her and submitting her to a Kangaroo Courtroom.

There are plenty instances of that in his dialogue. But the main point is that the coin didn't really matter, and Harvey Dent was never seen so much as Two-Face and slightly better Two-Face. Even his dialogue was terrible: "***** this" and "***** that" despite being a well educated man with at least half of him a charming eloquent guy? That his motivation was basically "become the baddest bloke on the block" with seemingly no tension within him over that is enough to put him squarely in the poor category.

Ideally, Two-Face is the most unpredictable foe, because you never know how he will act. Him in a game is perfect: on one mission he teams up with you to help take down a gang, another he is set on massacring Gotham's underworld. You meet up with him at one point helping protect a team of doctors and get their services to where they are needed, and later he has forced them to work solely for his own group. Hell, the next generation of consoles could be very fruitful for him - he could be on of the only characters wherein his missions provide different combinations all the time, depending on how the game randomises the coin flip.

I could recommend a few really great Two-Face stories for you to track down if you like. I've amassed a bit of a collection of the best over the years.

Indeed. As soon as the halo appears around the opponent, you just have to cop the fire damage, knife or whatever they throw. The only way to 'defend' against this is to level up a lot, minimising the damage.

Sweet the video I just put up introduce's Bronze tiger. Sweet timing with what was shown in this weeks Arrow episode.

It was implied that
Her "positive" result was a fluke and she's not actually pregnant. The label in the boxes said that it may get positive despite no pregnancy. The positive result was a mistake, all other results after that are negative, which may have played a role in driving Harley even crazier. She lost both the Joker and their possible child.
