Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 5

I was wondering, do your challenge ranks stay the same in NG+? Because apparently you can only do these challenges in story mode.

So if I'm at say...rank 5 in Worst Nightmare on my first playthrough, and then go to NG+, will I revert back to rank 1?

I'm assuming ur level would remain, but I'd like confirmation as well

And I've got to say, this was one of the best handlings of Batman and Joker's first encounters in a while.

I agree with this 100%. It actually goes into the psychology of The Joker as to why he becomes Batman's greatest foe a lot more than I can recall, even more so than the Nolan handling of the character. This Joker fully expects to die at some stage during this story, I'd almost go so far to say that what he does is akin to a suicide mission, that means taking down the Bat with him in a blaze of glory. When Batman saves him everything changes, he finds his purpose as perverted as is it. He doesn't want Batman dead anymore because he knows Batman will never let him die. This is almost a Joker Begins story.

Man I hope they get this freezing issue fixed. S**t is annoying.

I must be a lucky one not having the same issues as everyone else.

It's only frozen once for me. Besides that, no issues to complain about here. I'm loving the story. Dat Joker...

I'm not even going to attempt the challenges until it is resolved. If I was neck deep into one of the tougher ones and the game froze on me, I'd go ape****.

This game gets a perfect 10 from me once that issue is resolved. I love the hell out of it.

I'd say I've done it at least double that amount. It's a ridiculously good game.

Wow that's crazy. I play videogames like crazy and even my favourite games ever (Mass Effect, Fallout 3, etc.) I've only played through 5 times max. But, then again, they're all, like, 40+hour playthroughs, so maybe it's not so crazy.

Did anyone else find it kinda weird how this game essentially introduced all the rogues in one night? I mean, I like the whole "year one" thing they've got going, but it seems kind of far fetched that Batman runs into all these major villains for the first time over the course of a few in-game hours. I understand they obviously want to put a lot of characters in, but it would've been neat if he'd had run-ins with a few of them already.

Would installing the game onto my XBox help at all?

I have had the game only freeze on me once.

Lucky. I was just playing the game and it froze twice within 30 min. In never been able to play it without it freezing at least once in my playtime. And as i just said, now the f'ing save is corrupt. Lame, i had just finished 2 full Dark Knight challenges on the way to unlocking that skin. Gah! Maybe they'll just release a cheat code for the thing.

I said this before the game was released, I'll say it again.

I need Troy Baker to voice The Joker again. Whether it's another video game, an animated film, an animated series, or all of the above.

If there's one complaint I have about the detective mode is that they make it too easy by highlighting what to scan. They should make it harder to find the clues/trails of evidence and not point out where they are.

I will say I agree that the [blackout] Joker sequence when he takes over Blackgate was unnecessary from a narrative standpoint. I would have much preferred a final fight with Bane in the batcave. [/blackout]

I'm genuinely shocked at the amount of freezing and bugs that's happening to everyone else. I sympathise if it's ruining the experience for everyone else. Maybe there was just a bad batch of copies made.

I think they just coulda used a few more months to bug fix. You're lucky if it hasn't hit you. I just checked the forums for the game and its not an isolated issue thats for sure. If i didn't love the s**t outta the game id refuse to redo all my lost work, but hell I'm gonna play through the game a billion times any way. Its not too big a deal. However i think I'm gonna hold off putting in major hours until the issue is fixed.

Except for situations that call for something else, Baker needs to be the new official voice of the Joker.

Pretty much where I'm at too. I'll complete the side missions, but I'm not going to start tackling the challenges in earnest until I can trust this game to not freeze at crucial moments.

Along those lines I guess it says something that my reaction to multiple back to back freezes was to TURN THE GAME BACK ON IMMEDIATELY.

Was there a point to having Bane [BLACKOUT]learn Batman's real identity other than so he could **** up Alfred in the Batcave?[/BLACKOUT] I mean, that was a well done moment but then they undid it all by turning Bane [BLACKOUT]into the Titan monstrosity he was in the previous Arkham games and having him forget who Batman was[/BLACKOUT]. I was kind of disappointed by that, because I loved how well Bane was done up until then.
I think so. I found it to be an important part of the story. It shows the gamer Bane was at one point a smart dude. WB Montreal worked within Rocksteady's template, and I thought his mental downfall was quite tragic, given we see how he really was.

That's the thing Origins has over the other two for my money. Greater emotion.

I finished the story today. Not original, but still a lot of fun.

I thought they put a clever twist on the whole [blackout]"the hero must choose who lives/who dies"[/blackout] angle.

Baker def needs to reprise the joker role in any capacity possible.

I liked how they incorporated the shock gloves in this, in terms of gameplay and story.
