Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 5

My controller was being so wonky while playing this game, that I had to get a new one. Now I'm reading about freezing and glitches.
Ha the game froze for about 2 minutes at a 'Saving...' checkpoint for me in about 5 minutes into the game, it was not a good start :funny:. Thankfully I was patient and just tried to wait it out and it fixed itself.

On the Most Wanted List, who is the assassin before
Shiva
?

Ya know, I'm kinda over the fact that.....

Joker is the main villain again. I think what annoys me more is that he and Batman shared their first encounter together while he was pretending to be Black Mask. Just doesn't sit right with me.

*shrug*

AAAAND the game freezes up 3 times within 15 minutes. :cmad:

Is there anything in the game remotely as annoying as the Riddler Side Mission in Arkham City? I hate the fact that I need to find 400 bloody collectibles, in order to finish it. Instead of it being organic and actually following clues the Riddler leaves behind, I need to find a fixed number of collectibles before I can move on. It's bull****.

Don't tell me I need to collect Catwoman's Riddler Trophies too, because I have been avoiding to play as her.

You can collect the Catwoman one's and those will count towards the 400 Batman needs to collect.

And the Riddler trophies in this one are largely the same thing.

I loved The Riddler trophies in AA, but I just stopped looking for them in AC. It was just too much for me to care about.

Completed the game this evening. Fantastic game. No disrespect to Dini but the writing of this game was far FAR superior to AA and AC. There was more depth and emotional moments in this one than in the previous two combined. Batman's interactions with Alfred, Gordon and Joker were particular highlights. There was actual character development in it.

The boss fights were really great. Especially Deathstroke, Firefly and Bane. Firefly's was particularly epic. Full on pyromania with him turning half the bridge into an inferno. I really enjoyed that one.

I'm just finishing off the side missions now. I've got most of them done. The remaining Enigma packs and those unsolved murders of random Gothamites are all I have left to do now.

How are most of the Side Missions so far? Better than AC?

I'm almost done now. I honestly didn't expect to have the patients to finish it. And I guess I wouldn't have, if I weren't using a guide right now. I just want this over and done with.

I really hope Rocksteady doesn't pull similar crap in Arkham 3. I don't mind finding collectibles, but don't make the entire side mission depended on them.

Thanks for the info.

They actually made him a sympathetic character, unlike the comic iteration, which is a complete ********.
Depends on which version. Fabian Nicieza's awful Robin run revamped Anarky with a new character, and it was generally naff. Alan Grant's original is much better - he's still annoying, but he genuinely wants to help even though his methods are too radical for Batman. Of course, one could discuss the inherent contradiction of a masked vigilante working solo to bring about an anarcho-collectivist syndicate, but that is another story altogether.
Not really

He met Batman, he saw how he was his "opposite", and we saw how he "fell in love" with him. With that, the relationship between Batman and Joker is established. Also, considering that he unleashed all the assassins, including Bane, his role would have went unchanged if he sat it out after he was locked up.

Having Joker re-make the Blackgate break-out was a redundant way to finish the story. It rehashed all of the main points already made and it felt like filler. The rest of the game should have had Bane as the main villain, and thus by stopping him, Batman would have temporarily cleaned up the mess the Joker unleashed
Yeah, the climax is where the game really goes downhill, into being a complete retread of an earlier sequence and previous games as well. It managed to fell both rushed and drawn out, and came across as too much of an artificial conflict that replayed the finale of AA.
I was hoping for that too. To have Bane waiting there. When he wasn't there, my fingers were crossed we would go up the elevator inside Wayne Manor and fight him in there.

Yeah, that was the most disappointing thing for me. A final fight with Bane in the halls of Wayne Manor and the depths of the Batcave could have taken the cake for the greatest Batman gaming experience. I was so excited for it, and it would have been astounding amid the fires of the cave, Alfred dying, and all the Knightfall references. But nope

I'll give some credit because it looks like some of the issues have been patched. Still you would think they would've wanted to avoid this.

I'm sending a pm on a podcast on what they said about clearing Arkham origins of bugs before the Tokyo game show took place. Like I said they pretty much have to patch this. It's odd this happened. They celebrated too early too. It's a learning experience for them. being a new studio and all.

Currently not reading much to avoid spoilers since I can't play until later next week, but are the skins in Arkham City in this? I loved playing as TDKR, TAS, and Beyond skins. Neal Adams skin was great too.

I'm amused by the fact they got back
Robert Constanzo and CCH Pounder back as Harvey Bullock and Amanda Waller
.

Playing the side missions now. Good stuff in there. I like Anarky's one. He's a crim but you can understand his point of view. I'm doing the Enigma data packs one at the moment. I always enjoy the Riddler stuff.

I just finished the hotel sequence.

Wow, that entire thing was good. All of it was aces.

I just finished it, I think it's the best of the three. The gameplay isn't as tight as the other two though.

That was fantastic. I'm irritated that Waller is the new 52 version that's yet another attractive woman, rather than 'The Wall' we know and love who is one of the few deviations from the standard female body image in comics, but alas. Still, loved that teaser.

Ugh, I am done with the Riddler quest: some of the packet challenges are frustratingly unclear on what to do. I guess that is it, for now, until I determine who the last most wanted figure is /find a list if the intel scan locations.

At least you can do them in a shorter time then you did in city. That's good in a way isn't it?

I finally finished the Riddler Mission in City. Never again. What happens if I play New Game+? Can I rescue all the hostages right away, because I already collected all the collectibles, or do I have to start from scratch again?

Dude agreed.
saving joker, the cut scenes between him and batman. Him meeting Harley. Playing him as red hood as he discusses why batman is his one and only, come on folks that complained about joker being the big bad again. Do not deny this as some brilliant storytelling and characterization. It pretty much plays out 100 times better than Arkham City IMO.
