Played a hit man in Sweet Virginia.

And from the upcoming Catch 22:

Well if they're going for a young Batman (20's to 30's), I think he's right in the ballpark lookwise.

Sad and boyish but still manly is perfect for the ultimate traumatized man child. This is the first fancasting that doesn't suck. Boom if this was all you this is a Christian Bale in 1999 level fan suggestion for the role. Good one.

Batman needs intensity in his eyes. To praraphrase Jon Peters on Supes "eyes of a killer" while still being able to pull off vulnerabilities. Bale and Affleck had it and Keaton too I think this guy could pull it off.

I haven't seen Piercing yet, and his role in First Man is extremely limited, but I've seen him in James White and Sweet Virgina and I think he's got what it takes. Square jaw, strong nose, black hair. I think his look is just fine.

Heck no.

Not familiar with him, but other than pumping up, I'm not opposed to his looks. As long as his "sad puppy" eyes don't look that way under the cowl, like Ken Kirzinger's did when he played Jason, he should be fine.

I really like your phrasing here, as most people I find tend to overlook the "vulnerabilities" aspect. Bruce is a complicated character. Beneath the dark surface, there's a certain innocence/purity to him. So, as much as an actor needs to exude the kind of intensity that makes criminals uneasy, he should also be able to convey warmth and kindness.

If Reeves really is looking for a guy in the 20-30 year-old range, this is a tough one to nail down.

Agreed. That's what I feel is causing such a greater delay. Not the script itself.

Ben's already got it all where it counts. Just give him a tight script and allow him the time to get a bit leaner. Assuming he still wants the role. Which he probably doesn't. Poor casting director.

Nah. There's probably like, what, hundreds of actors in the world that are 20-30 and fit the bill for what Bruce Wayne looks like? The casting hasn't even started yet, when it does they'll probably have a bunch of actors giving their auditions for Batman, and picking one out of two hundred is not impossible.

The trailer for his latest movie reminds me of another breakout movie starring a future Batman:

I still think he lacks the looks for the part, but talent does always triumph over anything. Though I'd prefer to not to sacrifice anything either.

Okay, I have NO idea what's going on in that movie but I definitely need to see it.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28 years old, 5'11")
Christopher Abbott (32 years old, 5'11")
Jack O'Connell (28 years old, 5'8")
Oliver Cohen-Jackson (32 years old, 6'3")
Richard Madden (32 years old, 5'10")
Robert Pattinson (32 years old, 6'1")
Sam Claflin (32 years old, 5'11")
Tom Bateman (29 years old, 6'2")
Tom Cullen (33 years old, 6'0")

And that's all I've got.

Some of these guys are a bit older but could pass for younger.

Sam Heughan (38, 6'3")
Tom Hopper (34, 6'5")
Anthony Starr (43, 5'11")
Ed Skrein (35, 6'1")
Matthias Schoenaerts (41, 6'2")

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28 years old, 5'11")
Christopher Abbott (32 years old, 5'11")
Jack O'Connell (28 years old, 5'8")
Oliver Cohen-Jackson (32 years old, 6'3")

Tom Bateman (29 years old, 6'2")
Tom Cullen (33 years old, 6'0")

And that's all I've got.
I forget how many boxes tom Bateman checks off. I think he should be considered a contender.

6'2 and currently under 30 yrs old. Got the Bruce Wayne trademarks with dark hair and some intensity behind his eyes. Strong nose and chin. And a frame that can bulk up some.

I wonder if Reeves has the clout to go for a complete unknown in this part. Batman's historically always nabbed an actor who had some experience for a number of years in Hollywood.

Supes for whatever reason was the one who went the opposite route and grabbed people from obscurity.

Square jaw is a plus but can he act?
Yeah he plays all dark and broody in "The Body" on hulu. He's in a movie playing opposite of Liam Neesons in "Cold Pursuit". He won some award for Breakthrough actor for GQs men of the year awards for 2018. I personally have not seen him in much but he doesn't feel like a weak actor at all.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has shown versatility and I think could suit the role well
