I’d bet my life savings Gyllenhaal is in Far From Home
Okay, but until it's legitimately 100% confirmed and announced by Marvel, you can't just say " oh he's in Far From Home and that's an objective fact " . Maybe wait until it's really a fact before you say it's a fact.

It's not official, but he's as-close-to-confirmed as it gets. Pretty sure he's even been seen in London around production stuff for it, just not in costume.

He wouldn't be the first MCU person to get officially announced in a press conference pretty late in the game, either.

Eh, either way, we've already had one Batman actor play a Spidey villain anyway. It could happen, lol

Agreed. It's a shame because I really wanted Jake as Batman.

Ready for another grain of salt?

According to El Fanboy, two names currently circulating around casting agencies: Jack O'Connell and Noah Centineo (who?).

Jack O'Connell I could kind of see it...but Nicholas Hoult if they go with a younger Batman he would be my choice but an older Batman then I would definitely go with Jamie Dornan

Jack O'Connell as Batman would be sublime.

If not Batman, Marvel better scoop him up for Wolverine.

The problem I'm having is that there are quite a few British actors that have the look and the talent for the role, but I have no clue how good of an American accent they can pull off.

Having said that, I'll toss Joe Dempsie's name back into the hat.

He said there's a "mysterious" third name in the mix as well, one he's keeping close to the chest on account of the guy being the last person you'd expect to be in consideration for Bats (despite his being a popular fancast for other DC roles). Hmm...

I'm guessing that mysterious third name is a black actor usually fancast as John Stewart.

Sterling K. Brown?
Nah, if there's anything to this report, then it seems like they're looking for a younger, 20-something Bruce. So maybe Trevante Rhodes or someone like that.

Yeah, but Robles did go on to say, "based on everything I've heard about The Batman and the age range they're looking at... I'm kind of very surprised to hear that this person is apparently in the conversation." So, who knows?

Oh see I didn't listen to the podcast so I was unaware of that little addendum. So I take back my first guess - it sounds like what makes this person an unexpected choice is simply his age compared to the other two candidates. So it could very well be one of the popular (somewhat older) fancasts for Hal. As you say, who knows.

I got the impression that it's a couple of different factors that has him confused, so you might still be on the right track. We shall see.

Also, here's the podcast if interested. He talks about Batman, and later Superman right at the beginning.

So is Idris Elba gonna be Batman or what?

Oh god please no. Noah Centineo was HORRIBLE in "To All The Boys I've Loved Before". I can't believe this, and really hope it isn't true.

Jack O'Connell should be Wolverine if anything.

Hope this isn't true. YIKES.
