Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 4

Jeff Sneider has actual real sources since he’s worked in trades but CDAN is NOT a trustworthy site even for a blind item one. Also, they reported it back in 2017 so that’s more than a one year old “blind”. The reveal was done in Jan 2018 but the actual blind item was posted in 2017.

Crazy Days and Nights: Blind Items Revealed #2

I think Sneider is just trolling or the hint is more along the lines of “yeah fans should give up because that’s NOT happening” type.
There was another more recent blind that they did last year. I believe it was posted over the summer and it mentioned an Oscar caliber script that resembled Boogie Nights and was purchased by WB. Bale wanted to play the male lead and WB leveraged his interest by basically saying we’ll cast you in the role only if you return as Batman. Apparently he was enthusiastic.

More BS rumors.

Affleck and Cavill are out, Bale is returning as Batman, Routh is back as Superman, because why not ? :o

He’s not going to get paid $40m to star in flops like Vice.

The box office doesn’t determine how much an actor gets paid unless they have a backend deal, which he could probably negotiate if he wanted.

Point is: money isn’t an incentive for him because he could easily make a ton of it at honestly any time.

I just cannot imagine a scenario where Christian Bale returns...

Matt Reeves has made ir pretty clear that he wants full creative control and to put his own stamp on the Batman universe. How does that compute with using the same actor as the last critically acclaimed Batman series?

Then you REALLY wouldn’t be able to escape comparisons to the Nolan trilogy.

Christian Blake is 44 and Ben if 46, so I guess he does qualify as a “younger Batman!” :oldrazz:

Christian Bale's Batman in a comics accurate suit vs Riddler and Penguin? Take my money

Bale is in the process of losing weight to properly portray the desperate mugger who killed Thomas and Martha Wayne, Joe Chill.

Wait. So Bale might play Batman again AND hang dong in a Boogie Nights-type movie?

HELL YEAH!

Who has a problem with Bale coming back?

Also, would it be a continuation of the Nolanverse? I’d be interested in just Bale returning and recast everyone else. Bale Batman vs Joaquin’s Joker would be insane

I most certainly dont need bale back. He had a fine run time to move on.

I love Christian Bale as Batman but I wouldn’t really care for him returning even as a “new” Batman.

He had his run on the character and I think if they’re going to recast they should get someone who’s actually new.

Bale isn’t coming back. I don’t know why anyone is even entertaining the possibility. Are we going to go through this every time some article mentions his name?

It’s Jeff Sneider that mentioned it. The guy has a fantastic track record

Well, since The Punisher isn't going to get a third season in all likelihood (and Billy Russo may not make it out of season 2 anyway; I haven't watched it yet), maybe Barnes could be in the running for the next Batman. He's got all the right tools for the role; good looks, he's a good height (if that's important to you) and he excels at playing darker characters. He'd need to pack on some serous muscle though; he generally looks really skinny.

It’s not happening, dude.
I’m not even saying it will, dude. But it’s worth discussing. This is a crazy rumor. I have no doubt WB execs want Bale to return. Plus, stranger things have happened. I never would’ve guessed the X-Men would be returning to Marvel. This would almost be DC’s equivalent to that news story.

It's so redundant talking about bale returning lol, what's the point? Why should he show back up as somebody elses batman, when he's so connected to the nolan-verse? Why is it worth discussing after it had been discussed to death before Affleck got cast and after? This is like people who still keep begging for Jk Simmons to come back as JJJ.
