Oh **** me. I think I just fell in love with the idea of having Jack O'Conell as Batman and Kaya Scodelario as Catwoman....

Now if I have anything else I think I'll die a bit inside.

Both of these dudes were seen coming and going all through out the casting process for Titans, but now some are hinting that they could've read for the part. None reliable pages on twitter. Eh, both are over 30 but do look sorta younger, but not familiar with their work.

I've seen a little bit of Abbott's work and he's good. Peck's I haven't seen (I know he's currently playing Spock on Star Trek: Discovery but I haven't started the new season yet), but all I know is, he's Gregory Peck's grandson and he was blessed with the voice, lol.

Ethan Peck, meanwhile, intrigues me. Haven't seen him act in anything, but he has an "old Hollywood" look to him, he's got the family pedigree, and his voice is about as good as you could hope for Batman. Wouldn't mind if they at least invited him in for an audition.

Given some of the names floating around for the part, O'Connell's casting just might come as a relief! lol

The kid ticks all the right boxes save one—he's too short. There are things that can be done to make him look taller on-screen, however. Most importantly, he's not a Rock or a Cara Delevingne. He's got real acting chops. Invader's right. With a proper haircut and a clean shave, he surprisingly looks a lot like the Bruce Wayne of the comics, albeit younger (especially when he dyes that ginger hair of his dark like he did for Unbroken). I know some have concerns about his physique, but I wouldn't be too worried about that. Despite being on the skinnier side, he's got a good frame, wide shoulders and bloody youth on his side! I have no doubt that he'd be able to bulk up in the time between casting and filming. That he also has a jawline fit for a cowl is merely an added bonus.

Funny thing I just noticed. He bears an uncanny resemblance to the young Bruce from the Arkham Origins commercial.

Jack O'Connell would only look really short if Reeves surrounded him with actors over six feet tall. I feel like that's an assumption that people are making here. That everybody around him will be considerably taller and thus aggravate the issue. But considering the average height for men is 5'10" and for women is 5'4", it's not like it would require that much effort to make him look suitably taller if he's surrounded by cast mates within those height ranges.

I know what you're going to say. "Well it would suck if they have to restrict their casting options for other characters!" But in the grand scheme of things, there are dozens of actors out there that could suit these roles, and I would argue that getting the main character's casting right takes precedence anyway. So really, it's not a question of making O'Connell look 6 inches taller. It's more a question of making him 2-3 inches taller. Perfectly doable without stretching credulity.

Another thing, we're talking about Matt Reeves here. This is the same guy who made CGI apes come across more lifelike than actual human actors! "Perfectly doable" is right!

Hammer is only 32!? Christ. They can get a trilogy out of him, no problem.

Does it matter he's only a couple of years out of "late 20s" (which agreed, isn't a big deal, they're gonna be flexible to that extent) when he's dull-as-a-brick a screen presence?

Age is the least of the problems with Hammer. About all that guy has going for him in a Batman sense is he's really tall with a big frame, and his family is rich-as-sin in real life.

In any case, it's not gonna be Hammer. That Miller movie seemed to be going for smaller actors as a matter of course (some local Australian model as Wonder Woman...), but he's not gonna get the gig in a Reeves movie, following Bale & Affleck. Affleck clearly had some major downsides, but Hammer's not an insect next to Affleck as an actor or sellable quantity.

Yeah, in all honesty, Hammer doesn't seem like a Matt Reeves type. I could be wrong, though.

Of the names tossed around, I'd say the "safest" ones are Armie Hammer, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Tom Bateman, and Tom Cullen. They all have the height, look, and voice for a more traditional take on Bruce Wayne.

The other names each come with their own baggage (voice, boyish looks, height, unproven talent). Whether or not that baggage is a deal-breaker, your mileage may vary.

Wasn’t there a version of Bruce Wayne drawn to look like Gregory Peck? His grandson donning the cape and cowl would be kinda dope if he can act of course.
