O'Connell looks fine for his age. I think people have become too accustomed to Hollywood portrayal of people/age groups. The same thing was happening to Tom Holland because most people had forgotten what real teenagers look like

Hey everyone, been a long time, getting back involved for this ride, always the best time to be a Batman fan during the casting and pre-production phase. Not feeling O'Connell at all, but I like Christopher Abbott and the "safe" picks Boom mentioned above. I would definitely give Ethan Peck a look as well...........

Given some of the names floating around for the part, O'Connell's casting just might come as a relief! lol

The kid ticks all the right boxes save one—he's too short. There are things that can be done to make him look taller on-screen, however. Most importantly, he's not a Rock or a Cara Delevingne. He's got real acting chops. Invader's right. With a proper haircut and a clean shave, he surprisingly looks a lot like the Bruce Wayne of the comics, albeit younger (especially when he dyes that ginger hair of his dark like he did for Unbroken). I know some have concerns about his physique, but I wouldn't be too worried about that. Despite being on the skinnier side, he's got a good frame, wide shoulders and bloody youth on his side! I have no doubt that he'd be able to bulk up in the time between casting and filming. That he also has a jawline fit for a cowl is merely an added bonus.

He is kinda growing on me. Physically, he might be a bit of a far cry from what we have had before on film but he could surprise us like Ben ultimately did. It would be a massive relief to get Jack instead of what I have seen others suggest because he is a very good actor. Reeves wants a younger Bruce and if he is to be in his 20's, I'd rather late 20's like Jack is.

Jack O’Connell wouldn’t be my choice but I can kind of see why people would like him for the role and can see a scenario where it’s great.

The only thing I hope is that Matt Reeves goes for more slimmer and more agile Batman.
