Too Old to Die Young can't come soon enough

Yoo raise an excellent point. This show by Refn will show yet again how incredible an actor Tellaar is. The range and intensity required for this show is going to be crazy.

Granted he does have not the most usual perceived good comic looks of Waybe but neither did Keaton. Tellaar has on him height and physique and also has similarly fantastic performances. Regardless of his persona (which he can totally use to his advantage when playing up the arrogant Wayne), he is a unque Reeves-ian style unconventional pick to a Tee. He would enamor the role with his spirit and glamor. It would be a prize to the Batman filmmakers to bring Tellaar in on the action of Batman

We’ve heard The Batman is set in the 90s. Bruce is about 8 in Joker which is set in 1981, that would put Bruce in his 20s for The Batman..
Not saying it will happen but it could...

I’m not crazy about the idea, but some of the continuity issues could be fixed if they say Leto’s Joker was Jason Todd and Phoenix is the real Joker, and Reeves’ Batman is a younger version of the DCEU Batman.

It could work...

If they had any intention of connecting Joker to the DCEU, JDM would be Thomas Wayne.

Leto would be a 47 year old Jason Todd lol. IF they really want to connect this to the DCEU, just have Phoenix be the original Joker and Leto be someone who took up the mantle after Phoenix' death.

Until we've gotten the official casting announcement, I'm going to assume we're still in the "throw virtually any age-appropriate actor's hat into the ring" phase, so...

Not gonna happen, but appareantly some executive at a telenovela station liked the idea and now the guy is gonna be playing a mexican version of Batman called El Gato Negro so... I guess he's playing Batman already?

I’m cool with Diego Boneta but only if Tom Cruise cameos as Stacee Jaxx.

Tis' going to be a midget like Logan Lerman and most folks will respect Reeves because he made them chimps work. Reeves and his awful mustache did nothing new or innovative with his remake of Let The Right One In, but that is a different burnt tortilla.

Real Matt Reeves stans know his masterpiece:

It's kinda interesting how Matt Reeves made one "meh" movie, did absolutely nothing after that until 10 years later suddenly making Cloverfield and then proceded to make 2 great innovative character studies of chimps and now we are all rooting for him doing a great job at Batman.

I saw that at the cinema. It was not what I expected. It got dark as **** for no reason. Bummed out my date (we were like 15). I knew there was a reason I've never got this guy's movies. Really hope he doesn't mess up Batman. This movie needs to be great.

He didn’t do nothing... he co created Felicity!

I did initially think about this... then it kinda made more sense to me that Reeves Batman wasn’t connected to the DCEU. The way I see it, the DCEU doesn’t need Batman in it. They have WW, AM, making good money, if the sequels catch the same spirit they’ll continue to make money!! They look like they got a hit in Shazam and BOP could be a hit if HQ has anything to do with it! Then there is suicide squad. They can continue to churn these movies out til the actors move on, lose favour etc! With good writing any scenario can work! A good movie is a good movie right?
DC & WB’s will have their Batman but he will have his own ‘universe’ and I seriously think this i there game plan... it’s set in the past but it will be ambiguois to exactly what date but late 90’s would by my bet. Like you said - JOKER being set in the 70’s and Arthur being in his 40’s would see him in his 60’s in the 90’s. That scenario could work! So let’s say this joker movie finishes with him in Arkham - for life? 20 years who knows! But he could go down (in this movie) as Gotham’s most notorious. This is where I think if this movie does well, the sequel to the Batman will be linked and Phoenix will age up and reprise - I think it’s just too messy to link it to the DCEU when something new could be born out of this, with superman etc - but that’s just my two pence worth.

Leto would be a 47 year old Jason Todd lol. IF they really want to connect this to the DCEU, just have Phoenix be the original Joker and Leto be someone who took up the mantle after Phoenix' death.
i always assumed that to be the case - he just appeared too young, there didn’t seem any chemistry or history there - I know it wasn’t fleshed out and suicide squad is the closest we got, but I just didn’t buy it.. i think the whole he could be a previous robin fueled this tho!!

RTF HOT RUMOR: A Pair of Mysterious Cast Members In Phoenix's JOKER - Revenge of The Fans

Here's my theory on Bruce Wayne on The Joker film, I actually have two but never mind.

Mario was the first to break the story of Dante playing young Bruce Wayne. He broke the story i this same report where he also mentioned Justin Theroux is in the movie.

My theory?

Justin Theroux is Batman in The Joker.
I'm not sure how that's going to work out, but I also have a second theory as to how that's gonna play out: This version of the Joker is actually... Bruce Wayne. Note how Martha Wayne hasn't been cast in the film? That's because Martha is Arthur's mother. This is an alternate universe where Thomas left Martha and Bruce/Arthur and he grew up in ****ty circunstances ever since he was born, on the slums of Gotham, being assaulted ever since he was a kid, dealing with poverty, with no one to look up to, no one to teach him how to deal with things, none of the training mentally or physically, nothing . Justin Theroux and Dante portraying Bruce Wayne will appear in scenes where Arthur imagines how things could've gone differently for him, heck, maybe Batman could be an schizphrenic nightmarish delusion, we know Arthur is mentally ill. Being that Justin Theroux is roughly the same height and age as Joaquin that might work. That's why DC is making no attempt at even clarifying for mainstream audiences this is an Eleworlds, because by the time the film comes out... it'll be more than obvious, the twist will be, this is Bruce Wayne. It's been Bruce all along, gone bad.

Robin being in Suicide Squad in general was the rumor that fueled this. So convinced Scott Eastwood was Grayson.
