I'm down.

He could absolutely pass off for a younger Batfleck. Even their chins are inexplicably similar.

He's already given his screentest for the role. With all the directors who've been hot on him for years, he's clearly got the chops (might even be awarded for it in a couple months). Unless he doesn't want it, it's easy pickings from the studio's perspective.

Opening up more and more to Hammer as Bruce

Sucks Ben is not going to get the chance to be Batman in a great movie but oh well. It's next man up. In Reeves we trust

Yeah, I've really come to warm up to the idea of Hammer as Batman. He's clearly gifted as an actor. My only hesitations for him would possibly be whether he's able to go into the darker sides of Bruce's character or not.
Give us Hammerman:woot:

I think Armie has two things going for him in the role - voice and stature. But I'm not convinced by his acting overall. He isn't bad, just kinda bland.

He's got the voice and physicality. I'm expecting to be impressed with his new role, and I've warmed up to him, but I don't know if he can pull the range required for Bruce and Batman. Obviously his hair style in the above photo is not very Bruce, so he does look a bit like a Steve Jobs.

I'll say this, it's a little sad that I'm even considering Hammer as the best choice for the DCEU. Have we settled for mediocrity? Or at least something less than what we can have? This character deserves to be played by someone like Jake Gyllenhaal.

I'd be all for that.

Gyllenhaal is like the exact opposite situation I have for Armie Hammer. I think both are great actors, but while Hammer looks the part more and has the natural voice for it, I think Gyllenhaal is a master at playing those more psychologically tortured and nuanced characters like Batman. He'd bring the same "X factor" to the role that Keaton and Bale did, I think.

He was astounding in Enemy and Nightwatcher.

Hammer is a cornball.

The real Bruce Wayne, ladies and gentlemen...

That Josh Brolin? Man, he'd be TRIPLE dipping at this point between Cable and Thanos if he were to end up in the DC films as well.

Triple? Are we forgetting about...

Wait... why should Steve Jobs play Hal Jordan?

Wearing black turtle neck = looking like Steve Jobs

I wasn't saying he should. I'm saying he can. I'd be content with that. He wouldn't my pick for Hal doh. Steve Jobs has the imagination for constructs. hahaha!

No, looking like Steve Jobs makes him look like steve jobs. Imagine glasses on him and tell me he can't pass for his son or kid brother.

A change in hair and fashion can do wonders:

I'd argue not since Clooney will we have a more playboy-looking Bruce.

Have you not heard of Armie's award buzz for his upcoming role? Guy's been vouched for starring roles by the likes of Eastwood, Fincher, Verbinski, Ritchie, and (George) Miller. He clearly has something which directors are fond of.

I like Jake, but I'm off that train now. Everyone knows he's got the chops, but he really does fall short of looking the part and in this era it's not something which is the norm. At this point in his career I'm not sure he'd even consider it.

Even here I see more of Hal than Bruce.
To Be fair, I think I'm looking for a different type of Batman than the A-Typical one that most seem to want around here.
