Wes Bentley is currently in the lead, with Michael Fassbender and Jon Hamm close behind. I expected Fass and Hamm to do well but Bentley surprises me despite him being a great idea for Batman

From the list on this, poll guys who have been bad guys for Marvel are Pearce, Farrell, Bentley, Armitage, Fassbender , and possibly Pace in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yet Guy Pearce is the only one who would be recognizable to audiences unless someone goes out of their way to point out the others, most people aren't going to remember them like they do Pearce.

Not that I want to see any of them, either, I'm just saying, Guy Pearce does not = Richard Armitage.

Yeah, it was weird, the rise and dip of it. I think it became really apparent that he's old looking as it is (tbh, he's been that way for quite a while) so that it would be a mistake from a franchise perspective.

I've been promoting Gerard Butler as Batman, I can't believe he didn't make the poll.

Having said that, Richard Armitage could be really good, he's a big lad, has the acting chops and can do dark, serious and broody par excellence.

However, my first choice is....GB !

Come on people, get with me on this one. The new Batman should be
GERARD BUTLER.

- he can do suave (Phantom of the Opera), he can do badass (300,
Coriolanus) , he can get pumped up enough to stand next to Cavill and not look like Superman's little sister.

And best of all, the growly voice. Imagine him growling
" Madness? THIS IS GO-THAM!" as he kicks the Joker off a rooftop.

I know I sound like I'm taking the piss, but I actually mean it.
Butler is the best choice for Batman (especially if there's a bit
where Bats has to put the smackdown on Superman, you want
somebody who you actually believe could do it, and that's Butler).

No disrespect to Jon Hamm fans, but Butler's left pinky is more
badass than Hamm-on-steroids-carrying-a-minigun-riding a harley
without a helmet.

So please people, vote Gerard Butler for Batman !


If any of you dudes out there with mad photoshop / manipulation skills
create a graphic for Butler as Batman (like the Karl Urban as Judge Batman photo) you are a ****ing LEGEND, and earn my eternal respect.

Anyway, the last time I liked Butler in anything was Rock 'n Rolla. He's been boring or awful in everything since. Let him stick to doing terrible romantic comedies and crappy action movies where he always has a gun in his hand.

Gerard Butler would be a joke. No. Thank. You.

Hamm is an amazing choice for Bruce Wayne. But im still not sure about his Batman. So he's on my list but I don't see it as being likely.

Brolin has everything in my opinion. That's for a mid 40s version. If they go younger Armitage might be the guy. But im not excited by that choice at all, even if it's good.

I'm a Hamm supporter but because this isn't a multiple choice poll and we could only vote for our #1, I had to go with Fassbender. Mainly because he's the perfect age I want to see for a "new" Batman. I would LOVE to see Hamm in this role, I'm just struggling to see how an "older" Batman fits with the idea that he's new to this universe.
