Telling the new Bats how to land properly on a rooftop with all that gear on :cwink:

The suggestion of Edgar Rameriz really excites me the more I think about it. Good actor that can be intense and charming with level of gravitas needed for Batman. I'm only uncertain of his American accent. I certainly hope he gets a audition if he's interested.
:hrt:

I'm not fancasting 40 year olds until I hear that Batman is going to be older than Superman. Right now I'm working under the assumption that the choosen actor is going to be under 37. I could be wrong but that's just me.

Absolutely. I say under 35.
I have no problems with older actors. If the actor was a decade older and can look around Cavill's age more power to em but I don't think they are going to cast a little known actor that is 40 plus.

It's like with Amy Adams, there is no way that Adams would have gotten Lois if she was a 37 year old actress who hadn't played in hits and had multiple Oscar noms. No way in hell.

Yes, that is proof enough that he would be great as Batman.

I am actually watching Dredd right now, and it's funny cuz the first few scenes where he's talking about Megacity 1 and suiting up it's basically like Bruce talking about Gotham and suiting up to go fight crime.

If he thinks he looks pissed off all the time, don't recommend Dredd, recommend Star Trek or something.

The reason I don't recommend Star Trek is because Bones is a very specific character portrayal and far from a Bruce Wayne archetype. However, it IS a good indicator of Urban's range, so there's that....

the one thing ramirez has going against him is his accent. if it was francisco d'anconia as batman instead of bruce wayne, you couldn't get any better than that.

Wasn't there word of him being looked at for Zod?

If Wes Bentley is cast as Batman, I will s**t bricks. Stinky, stinky bricks.

Yeah, apparently.

Makes me think how much closer to Smallville that would've been in terms of Zod and Jor-El's age difference and friendship. Then, also having Zod be closer in age to Kal-El.

Anyway, along with those who tried out for Superman, maybe those looked at for Zod may be considered. Unless WB feels they really need a more known actor to get people to see the film. But, I don't really think they can find anyone that can generate a significant amount of attraction anyway.

Heh. Mongoloids. :hehe:

He obviously hasn't been around the Hype for very long* :hehe:

*disclaimer- just a joke.
Who uses the word monoloids in the first place? Should I ignore him or should I enjoy the trainwreck? :hmm:

It has been a while. Last I clearly recall is all the know it all nerds saying Heath Ledger would be a terrible Joker. That's why he's my avvy. "Naw, he is a rom com actor, good, but no way he could be Joker. Daniel Day Lewis is established, he has to be it!" they said. Is there a difference between assuming a romcom prettyboy can't be joker and assuming a mediocre actor and phenominal martial artist can't be batman? I see no difference. Things haven't changed much have they? Mongoloid is a pretty apt description.

Wes Bentley would be interesting, but my favorite for the role is no doubt Michael Fassbender.
So what if he already is Magneto?
Don´t forget that Ryan Reynolds was Deadpool and Green Lantern, and also that James Marsden was Cyclops and Richard White in Superman Returns.
So I wouldn´t doubt anything!

Ledger wasn't some romcom actor...

People complained but Ledger was still a very good actor. Very good with a lot of range going in. Adkins is a mediocre action star at best and just a good fighter type. How are you even comparing?

That's what I say too, but it's about being 2 characters at the same time. That wont happen. He also might be busy. There's Magneto (which he may do more of in the future) and it's about to get more recognition because he's now in a movie with Ian McKellin, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, etc. Not to mention Jennifer Lawrence is a much more well known star than in 2011. Fass will be more recognized as the character.

Then there's Assassins Creed and Prometheus 2.

None of these movies could get sequels or interfere with Batman, then Fass could get a call from Zack and my wishes come true. Or they could all interfere with him taking another franchise. Especially 1 that will need him to play Batman 3 or 4 times.

Yes I was unsure about Ledger in the Joker role but I never denied that he knew how to act.

BxB you really need to chill out. We aren't arguing about some controversial topic or anything. I don't get the odd "you guys are all ******ed!" thing.

Same here.
If I had just watched Brokeback Mountain I wouldn't have been worried. The guy knew how to totally inhabit a role.

Can we all agree that casting Superman is way different than casting Batman? Sure I want my Superman actor to know how to act decently but a Superman actor needs to be able to ooze a simple nice guy charm just as much as he needs to be decent at acting. I love Supes to death but it's a simplier character and role than Batman.

Simply put the actor that plays Bats has a harder job and thus needs to be a more talented actor than a Superman actor.
