Batman Forever

I've always liked Batman Forever, too. not THAT much, but still.
a lot of people complain about Robin in the movie.
I don't get what's wrong with him...he was pretty good.
I thought he was just a bit too old. Now if they made a Nightwing movie...:cwink:

Batman Forever had a few good lines, such as:

"...I'm both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Not because I have to be. Now... because I choose to be"

"...Then it will happen this way: You make the kill, but your pain doesn't die with Harvey, it grows. So you run out into the night to find another face, and another, and another, until one terrible morning you wake up and realize that revenge has become your whole life. And you won't know why."

For what Robin has been and is supposed to be, yes it was quite acceptable.

I always thought the Robin as perfect, to make him a kid would have been way too weird. I never see why people complained about that, or the earring, meh, just my opinion, but I think Schumacher nailed Robin. No pun intended.

"If Bruce Wayne could have given up his life for your family, he would have."

:brucebat:

I like that one. That's the Batman I know and love.

"Holey rusted metal, Batman!"

"What?"

"The ground... it's all metal... full of holes, ya know. 'Holey'."

"Oh."

great line, imo.

that's how I feel.

Robin was fine, but his character is inherently hard to translate.

Exactly, it's incredibly hard to put a 16 year old gymnast with incredible physical powers into any film unless you give him a supernatural event to get the skills.

Schumacher did well. I fully accept making Dick older.

Everyone knows O'Donnel was cast cause they wanted to draw into the "MTV Crowd" at the time, and all the actors in the film were very popular with that audience, especially O'Donnel with the young ladies, at the time he was quite the heart throb for them.

I love O'Donnel's Robin, he was perfect for BF. I just wish he would've been handled better in B&R.

I have it on VHS so there are no extras. In fact, I own all four Batman movies on VHS.

Yeah, the strange thing is that until around 2006 or 2007 I didn't even know the last two Batman movies from the old franchise even existed. When I was younger I'd always say I wished there were more movies. I found out about them & this one week when I was sick like hell, my dad had went out & bought both movies. That was a good day. :hoboj:

Bunk. While I am well aware of the "Who is more attractive" moment in his casting, he was portrayed that way because that's how Schumacher and his writers conceived and wrote the character. There's nothing purely MTV about a biker, that's been a theme in movies for decades. O'Donnell was cast because he won the role and fit it better than the other "decent-sized names". Leo DeCaprio and Bale auditioned for the part as well.

Yeah, it would've been odd seeing Bale as Robin now that I think about it. What if Bale was cast & O'Donnel was Batman now? Could you imagine such irony? :applaud

Go and watch the extras to BF and youll hear my quote atleast a few times, even from the producers, so I say your WRONG!

O'Donnel isnt a big enough actor these days to be cast as Bats.

I know, I'm just saying that it'd have been weird if everything happened the opposite way.

Whoo, That would be weird seeing Bale as Robin...Ehh, gives me the chills!

Bale as Robin...hmm. Can't see it. Then again, he IS Batman to us now.

Legend has it that when Bale was denied the role of Robin, he turned to Schumacher, looked him straight in the eyes, and said "I will return to this franchise. And when I do... I'll be the goddamn BATMAN."
