BvS Batman/Superman Pushed Back to 2016 - Part 1

That's because F&F has had a 'plan' for years since the retooled their franchise post Tokyo Drift.

WB on the other hand, doesn't know what they ate for breakfast.

I just realized today that Fast and Furious 7 had one of its major star died before completing production, and is only delayed 9 months.

This movie, which has most of the major characters cast, a completed script, and pre-production in full swing is being delayed for 10 months.
I really doubt that is true at this point.

Again there a multiple drafts of scripts. Multiple. For big productions like these, scripts are being revised right up till filming start date. John Logan said that on Skyfall he was sometimes re-writing scenes to be shot the next day.

And the entire muddle fiasco over what this film even is - WF or Trinity or JLA - means they are still figuring things out.

If Affleck is not quitting, then the delay was down to the script.

If Amy Adams read the script that means it's completed.

A script might have been completed, but it's not the one they are ready to go off and shoot with... (same with SW)

Why not someone as known as Affleck?

For a couple of reasons.

1. It's easier to picture an unknown as a CHARACTER rather an actor PLAYING the character.

2. An unknown actor might be more appropriate for the role.

3. An unknown wouldn't be trying to juggle roles and careers like a megastar would. They'll just be happy to be getting a big role that pays.

4. REEVE was an unknown. 'Nuff said.

That's my biggest issue; I can ignore Affleck qualities/faults as a human, actor, director, etc...

But, can not escape his identity of "Ben Affleck". That's who he'll be no matter how hard he tries and that is upsetting since BW/Batman is everything to me.

Another reason why I can't enjoy Leo, Tom Cruise, Tatum, Depp, etc. in any roles these days that don't call for lots of makeup.

Then Affleck shouldn't have been cast, nuff said

^ I think hyperfamous people in general are hard to overlook. Outside of actors like Oldman and DDL, I often find myself intentionally putting their real identities in the back of my mind.

Fishburn does a boss Perry White, for example, but it's hard to think that I'm not seeing an extension of his real life pompousness.

True and on that film they didn't push back production or the films release.

WB know more about this film that we do. Just because we have a muddled idea of this film does not mean that WB does.

If Affleck is not quitting, then the delay was down to the script.

There could be other factors.

I can't imagine WB/DC pushing the release date back by 10 months and not do something about Justice League movie at the same time. The production for JL movie will take as least as long as BvS and I doubt they'll want JL movie to be out in 2019. Either shooting them back to back or have a very tight window in between the two so they can use the same set pieces or locations to save money. Getting the whole gang back together will not be easy given how busy guys like Affleck is with his other movies.

If the famous Affleck leaves, they should get someone just as well-known.
If stardom destroys the character, then the original actor shouldn't have been famous in the first place.

Let them take as much time as they need. Man of Steel was delayed six months to perfect the CGI and such in light of the Green Lantern Snafu, when WB was writing checks in the millions last-minute to get the effects done on time. Man of Steel had some pretty fantastic effects as a result.

^ I think they should get who has the best presence and performance for the character from auditions, famous or not.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Snyder threw all the raving fanboys who are butt hurt over the delay a bone of some sort to tide them over. This is the guy who snuck a test still of Watchmen into a 300 trailer after all…he's always come across as a big fanboy himself.

The 10 month delay makes perfect sense ... Star Wars Episode 7 has Christmas staked out ... so that puts it off limits ... the next place to get maximum exposure is the following Summer.

... and yeah, I have to imagine this leads to filming both films for release 1 year after the other.

Funny to see some people wanting Affleck out... He's the ONLY chance this movie has to be really good in terms of script. Or would you really trust a Goyer/Snyder pairing without Nolan? :o

I think some of the Nolan secrecy has rubbed off on him after MOS, though he'll definitely be merciful at comic-con. and maybe when shooting starts.

^ Funny enough..I think Nolan would take away "the comicbookness" if he had a say. MOS suffered enough with trying to create a fantastical yet "grounded" Krypton. That being said, Nolan probably influenced Goyer to have more of an underlying focus.

And the Nolan shakeycam. AND the one-camera policy. :word:

I'd want more traditional Snyder back for SOME of MOS2.

Again, how do we know Affleck is involved with the script? Who's to say he's not in this just because, oh I don't know...maybe he just wants to act?

What a radical idea. :o
