There are reports where Deadline surmised the breaking even was $800M, and another report was that $925M would be them making a profit.

So if this is topping out at $850M then it's going to need other avenues like home video release, tv rights to pad the profit.

Man, it's just sad. A Batman/Superman movie, needing DVD sales just to make a profit.

WB's stock has been on the rise the past week or so, seems like investors are happy.

The real reaction from investors will come when earnings release happens depending on how Movie division plays in to overall Warner earnings. The money from Merch and DVD/TV is spread out across quarters compared to one off profit from BO.

That's why EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE. Deadpool's 750M is so much more to Fox than BvS' 850M+ to WB. Not to mention Deadpool still has to release in Japan I believe.

no but it's not going to make much of a difference. Deadpool won't make money in Japan, $10mil at the most.

So you're telling me that only than 4 weekends later, this will movie will barely make $10M at the US box office. I've seen fat people on trampolines falling slower.

Losing to Zootopia is not as embarrassing as losing to The Boss.

LOL.

That's $100M per hero. So for Justice League, should be $700M domestic easily.

Deadpool didn't cost a gazillion dollars. The fact that Deadpool is even in the same BO league as BvS is nuts. It is making GOBS of money.

Exactly. WB would switch places with Fox in a heartbeat right now.

Deadpool is a different beast completely. In terms of success Deadpool is in the same league now with pretty much every big superhero film. And yeah, it is a bit nuts.

I hope everyone realizes that mass does not affect the speed of a falling object. The initial acceleration of a falling object slows until it reaches its terminal velocity. Fortunately, you won't reach that if you are jumping on a trampoline.

Ah, science. I love it.

Humans reach terminal velocity at 118 mph.

Batman V Superman reaches terminal velocity at CA:CW.

Even skinny ones??? :cwink:

EDIT: And when you come to a sudden stop at that speed, well, I guess "terminal" is a word that has more than one use.....

BvS is about to, if not stop, slow down very quickly.

I am NOT a NERD, but, if you ever get bored, I've got some great stories about probability theory and multivariate statistical techniques. There's one about Canonical Correlation that brings the house down every time.:ilv:
