Domestic:

Opening Weekend: $190M - $210M

Domestic total: $550M - $650M

My reasons?

Easter opening Weekend, weeks of no competition domestically.

Dark Knight Rises didn't even make that domestic. lol

Hell, not even DK.

Talk about hyperbolic nonsense...trailer 2 was fantastic and the audience i saw it with responded very well to it especially when WW appeared...trailer 2 haters really have no clue when it comes to marketing...WB knows how to market their movies...that trailer was probably one of many that they thoroughly market tested with audiences and found that one to be the most effective before they released it...only a vocal small minority of fanboys on the internet seem to dislike it where as every one else thought it was awesome...that trailer did not in any way damage or hurt the movie...the link below shows some real reactions to the trailer!

That mash-up reaction was frickin' awesome. :drl:

Hell, not even DK.

Neither of Nolan's Batman films opened in 3D whatsoever, BvS has that advantage.

Plus it's Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman!

Everyone I know IRL went like "oh man I gotta watch this!" after seeing trailer #2. So yeah, internet shills can stay in their basements and continue to shill while we throw money at WB. Sounds good to me. :hehe:

Even my cousin who is a Marvel fan girl and hate anything associated with DC apart from Cavills ass had to admit that the trailer made her want to watch it.

Well, Dark Knight made 533mil domestic on a 2D release so it is very much possible for BvS to hit 500mil.

Plus think of Man of Steel, before that film released the only thing it had going with it as a Superman franchise was living off the success of Superman Returns which wasn't exactly a fan favorite for folks.

Yet thanks to tons of Marketing by WB/DC, a Superman film after Superman Returns manage to make an opening weekend of $116 Million ($121M if we count the thursday night showings)

Heavy Marketing of a Snyder film does really good at the box office.

Plus think about this, even tho Man of Steel had a great opening weekend as mentioned above, it still dropped to 3rd place thanks to those two saboteurs known as Monsters University and World War Z, coupled with its 56% on RT it shouldve tanked, yet this film however still manage to make $291M at the domestic box office.

That domestic BO is higher than every cbm film from MoS too DOFP, so even with so much going against it, it still made that much.

Higher than The Wolverine, Thor 2, ASM2, TWS & DOFP, most of those barely having any competition to it.

i had no clue what a good box office was until about five minutes ago when i googled dark knight rises and man of steel (which made much less than i would have guessed after seeing how much dkr made) and i'm gonna float near b narc with a price is right guess of 319 mil.

Even though it has near zero competition for weeks, a holiday easter opening weekend and far more hype than Man of Steel?

It will soar far past $319M+

In fact if Man of Steel had the release date of BvS, i honestly believe that it would have made close to $400M domestically.

Here's a list of all the films releasing in 2016, barely any competition for weeks.

My current predictions are:

OW: $200M
DOM: $600M
INT: $900M

WW: $1.5 Billion.

The hype this film has is unbelievable, but more importantly, the sheer curiosity BvS has is unheard of.

Whether you like, hate or haven't even heard of this film, spending time with your family on Easter and going out as a family to the theatres and seeing a film called Batman vs Superman playing right now.

This movie's way to big to be small.

Plus with the current expansion of the Chinese film market especially being the main reason we had 5 billion dollar films in 2015, BvS will do big there.

319 mil? Lol...it will have that in it's second weekend...after seeing what TFA is doing with it's run I think it's ok to think big for BvS...BvS is the next big EVENT movie on deck...200 million opening weekend and 550-600 mil domestic tally plus over seas where it's trending very well I think a total 1.5 billion is possible.

You are definitely low-balling. Man of Steel, with an opening of 121m, managed a 291m domestic haul., nearly 300mill dom. This is a film coming off a less than favorable film in 2006, tough release date, and split reviews.

While BvS could potentially be divisive amongst folks, it is still the first ever team up between Batman and Superman, thus the curiosity factor, and has no major competition for weeks. With your numbers, BvS has to either not open that big, on par with MOS, or it has an abysmal multiplier. I'm not ready to say it will gross over 600m, but I do think 400-500m domestic is a reasonable prediction. 3d and inflations has made it easier to reach those numbers for certain blockbusters.

Plus while critics and fans were divisive about Man of Steel a good chunk of the general audience really liked the film and has an A- on Cinemascore.

I honestly have to say that under $400M is really low balling it.

$650m Domestic / $900m Overseas

Cumultive - $1.55B
