I think Madagascar 2 will make only $155m domesticly and $447m in worldwide.

And Kung-Fu Panda will make $168m domesticly and $410m in worldwide.

Animation movies just stoped the making high numbers domesticly after The Incredibles made huge box office.

Cinemaman, you know we love you, but I think you think way too much about how much money movies are gonna make.

Ok, I will shut up my mouth :)

I think BB2 has a legitimate shot at being the #1 film that summer - especially coming off a film that was successful with it's fans, critics, and at the box office and DVD.

Having The Joker come back like Hunter said doesn't hurt either - he's the BIGGEST villain in comics.

Batman Begins will be in the top 5 100% for sure. Indiana Jones owns #1 slot. Period. Die Hard will be in the top 10.

1) Indiana Jones $300-350 million
2) Batman Begins $250 million
3) Iron Man $200 Million (maybe more just too untested to tell now.)

x) Hulk (If done right) could be $250-275 million easily. (probably 2009)
x) Die Hard $150-175 Million

(I need to look at the rest of the films coming then I'll fill the rest out).

If Hulk 2 slips into 2008 and get's a great director and Avi arad & Marvel really make this the Hulk film that the masses want it'll make way more than Batman Begins because it'll be more fun, more suited for kids. I think Hulk 2 will slip into 2009 though. Hulk to me has more "potential" than Fantastic Four or X-Men at the box office. Just hasn't been done right yet to maximize the box office.

I think the CGI/Pixar type films are losing steam but Incredibles 2 would give it a boost.

Well, as I see there will not be much huge blockbusters in 2008, so I'd say BB2 will be even in TOP3.

I dont expect high numbers from IJ4. Of course, I love this franchise and I am fan of Indiana Jones, but 4th part will not work with old Ford and Connery.

They looks now more like brothers than son and father.

But if IJ4 has very good script, it will be huge.

^ Spielberg and Ford have turned down plenty of treatments for IJ4 and have waited and waited and finally got one they all liked. It'll appeal to a huge audience and just dominate the Summer unless Spielberg screws it up like AI or WOTW...I doubt it.

I hope you are right.

I hope so too. I liked the last 3 Indiana Jones films but the Holy Grail was a bit too soft. Temple of Doom was a blast on the big screen but nothing can top the original.

this is fun banter and all, but from everything i've read, Nolan & co. are too busy (and too smart) to RUSH BB2 into production...

It isn't scheduled to come out until 2009!!!

I have feeling that Iron Man will get $150m budget, what is normal for movies like this.

If it is good movie, it will make $200-230m.

^ 120-130 million per Favs. He's so good w/practical effects he can do it for less. It's gonna be fun watching this movie develop. It'd be nice if Nolan did this too. Tim Story is doing it but he's so close to production he's too busy to be active like Jon.

Batman 89 topped the last Indiana Jones movie I hope the Batman Begins Sequel will repeat the box office sucess in 2008 now that Joker is the Batman's enemy, I don't hate the Jones movies and I probably go see it but I want Batman to do better then 2005 box office.

^ When was the last Indiana Jones movie? They came out in a similar market so adjusting for inflation would be a good reflection for films in the early 90's and late 80's.

The BB sequel will be released in 2008, NOT 2009.

Batman 89 made about 414 worldwide will Indiana Jones and Last Crusade made 474 million worldwide. Both in 1989.

One of these Madagascar type films. It's got Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan and Jack Black in it.
Oh, thank God. I read "Kung Fu Panda" and at first I thought it was one of two things:

1) The sequel to that dog-awful Karate Dog TV movie they had last month, that had a dog kick John Voight's Angelina-Jolie-fathering ass.

Or 2) The new Samuel L. Jackson movie where the title is pretty much the entire premise.

BB didn't rake up such big numbers at the box office. about 200 mil domestically, if i'm correct?

but that's because the studio really wasn't pushing it that much. there were no batman happy meals, the commercials didn't air every 10 seconds. they the the movie sell itself and that's exactly what happened. it got great reviews and made more than enough money, though it wasn't a smash like the Spidey films.

now that's everyone's seen how good BB was (either in theaters or on DVD), people won't need to be skeptic, as they were with BB, since it was a restart.

i expect this sequel to be much bigger than BB was, box office-wise.

Actually Indy owned Batman beating it by over 60 million worldwide. Get your facts straight.

That's because people who eat Happy Meals were not a suitable audience for the very dark Batman Begins. LOL
