Why not, I do...if Iron Man and Indy 4 can hit 300M, why can't Batman? I can see it at least finishing with 340M+. It has little competition, and it's not like it's going up against Star Wars and Pirates, now if it did, it would be a different story.
I would love to see TDK make that much but it just isn't likely. It has a chance albeit a small chance to cross 300M and even of beating Iron Man (it's not likely but possible) however the chances of it hitting 340M are very very low next to impossible.

I seriously can't understand you people, you say you love batman but you still have negative thinking, and then you say youre just being realistic, but if you were then you would know that TDK has big chances with all that it has on its side.Or youre just marvel fans in disguise.:bh:
:hehe:

Dark Knight, Iron Man, and Hulk.
Dark knight will get alot of people because of Heath's death.

Do you guys just ignore the fact that this movie is selling out theaters...three weeks before the movie comes out?

This movie has a guaranteed 100 Mil opening weekend - more in the 110-120 Mil range.

There is no way this movie makes 100 + Mil OW and not 300 Mil.

AGREED!

I believe it was Batman Begins that made $1 million in it's midnight showings.....
Iron Man made $3 million in it's midnight showings.
It will be very interesting to see how much TDK makes, considering all the IMAX midnight showings that are sold out and that's not even the majority of moviegoers who are going to see this movie.

The TV spots have "mass appeal" written all over them, in a way that Begins' lacked. I don't know how much effect they will have overall, but it could be worthy of consideration.

Again - do you not read the reports saying this film has theaters sold out...three weeks early?

I could see TDK making 5 mil opening night. Easy.

I just asked this in one thtread, so I'll ask this here....

Does anyone know how many seats an IMAX theater usually holds?

Heh, dude, it wil do ATLEAST double that.

Imax screens are 600-800 seat theaters and tickets are upwards of $15. This film has a good shot at breaking 50 million opening day because midnights are gonna be crazy.

It is July, and the appeal to the 14 and older crowds through the rooF. Midnights will be the biggest since SITH.

I mean seriuosly, the films tickets have been onsale 4 days and its already selling out midnights...we're talking multiple midnight selling in PRESALES-thats forgetting EVERYBODY who will just show up for the midnight showing and buy tickets then. W.B. have also backed themselves into a hole...the quick sellouts and mass purchases for people who want to be the 1st to see it mean it will be pretty tough to carry out any plans to move up to Wednesday, the 16th or open at 10 PM. on Thursday or something.

I know the one at The Bridge in SoCal holds 375 or so people. I calculated when we were shown the IMAX prologue and we had to figure out how early we had to show up to get a seat. :oldrazz:

Nope like you said we are simply realistic and we have listed the reasons why we think this. We are being logical and actually thinking about it. If TDK some how defies all logic and becomes the number one comic movie ever I would be thrilled and jump for joy. Just because I want something to happen doesn't mean that I think it will.

I originally had this movie pegged at around $250 - $265 mil domestic with no shot at $300 mil and definitely no shot in hell in topping Iron Man. However, a couple of weeks ago, I kind of felt that it could get up to $275 mil. Now with the more I see (commercials) and read and getting hyped for it myself, part of me thinks this movie actually has a shot at topping $300 mil. :wow:

It would be quite an amazing accomplishment to have two superhero movies gross more than $300 mil in the same year. I hope it happens.

Hehe, the hype has even turned you to the dark side!

Most excellent. :hehe:

So I see that Mamma Mia thing comes ou the same week as TDK.

It looks cute, but something tells me that they're aiming for completely different audiences opening weekend. :oldrazz:

I heard it was a big broadway musical and don't be surprised if it takes a massive amount of money away from TDK.

as of late ive seen more Mamma Mia spots then TDK.

It's been about equal for me.

I dunno, they seem in completely different worlds, and the people who would see one wouldn't see the other unless they were physically dragged into the theater. :oldrazz:

But what do I know about moviegoing? :o
