EA Battlefield 3 - Part 2

Guys who actually use SOFLAM (and who actually know how to use it effectively) are a godsend in this game. They're extremely rare, which sucks, but when they use it they can help out huge. I had a guy once on Kharg Island using SOFLAM like crazy and together we were taking down planes and vehicles left and right. I had to send him a message to say "Finally someone who knows how to use it" because it's so damn rare.

It's one of those things where you almost have to be playing with friends to use it effectively, because like you guys said even if you use SOFLAM most scrubs are too busy racking up their l337 kills to care.

Yea no kidding man. I played with a team not too long ago on Caspian Border and they had some SOFLAM's set up along with a few of us using the Javelin and their vehicles never stood a chance. We completely shut them out.

Some great changes, others not so great. I hate to see that i can't detonate my C4 after my death. I guess now I'm just gonna have to start sacrificing myself more. Its way too hard to get c4 planted on a tank then get to safety.

I'm actually glad about the no detonations after death. That never made sense to me and seemed more game breaking that a convenience. Planting, detonating and surviving is part of the fun, that's how you get your battlefield moments!

Yea i deff think it was cheap and it was like that in BC2, iv just become so used to doing it, haha.

I mean it sucks(since i rely on it so often), but i can admit, not being able to blow ur C4 up after ur death should be the way to go.

You feel way more bad ass taking out a tank. You're essentially doing the 'cool guys don't look at explosions' thing

the c4 staying after death was in bad company 1, took it out for bad company 2, but then made a return for battlefield 3. dont know why they brought it back, to me it seems pretty silly that you die....spawn....then go HAHA! blow the person up. if im revived then i can see why, but not if i go all the way back to the character select screen.

Haha yea, and thats EXACTLY what id do. If i set C4 then was killed, id laugh all the way until i respawned, then BOOM!

Like i said, I'm deff gonna miss it, but agree that it should be removed.

Funniest video of the week.

Dat laugh. Looks like so much fun. So excited about having real horns in the game soon.

Haha.

Some of those dudes suck. How can you not see the vehicle just cruising around running people over?

Hahaha yeah you have to be pretty bad to not see some of those kills coming. I think the only times I've been run over is when I'm trying to C4 a tank and it backs over me or something.

And holy crap that's an extensive patch list. Pretty crazy that Javelins, etc. will disable an air vehicle in 1 hit now. We went from 2 hits to like 50 billion hits to 1 hit? Geez.

My personal fave change:
"The MAV will now be destroyed when running into a soldier or vehicle at high speed. It is still possible to strategically sacrifice your MAV on a soldier; it will be destroyed in the process. "

Thank God.

Haha, i guarantee you some Recon *****e won't know that after they download the new patch. I would love to see their face as they try to roadkill a soldier only to have their MAV destroyed.

Im also really happy to see that MAV riding will go the way of the dodo.

3 new Battlefield add ons been announced

Quote:
Battlefield 3: Close Quarters — Players are dropped into an infantry-only theatre of war. Battlefield 3: Close Quarters also introduces new weapons, assignments and unique dog tags.

Battlefield 3: Armored Kill — Battlefield 3: Armored Kill features new driveable tanks, ATVs, mobile artillery and more within huge battlefields for an all-out vehicle assault, including the biggest map in Battlefield history.

Battlefield 3: End Game — The fourth expansion pack will ship in the winter but as yet, no further details have been announced.

That sounds really cool. I love CQC.

Eh, not at all interested in the CQC maps. If i wanted to play CoD, i would. Armored Kill sounds awesome tho, biggest map in BF history? Nice.

Totally agree, CQC seems a little COD to me... although i rented MW3 last week and actually really enjoyed it fro the first time since the original MW. So it might be nice to have that quick fire option in the same game as the more Tact options.

But without a doubt i am the most excited about the heavy armour options on massive battle maps.

I just think its really dumb they are developing a whole expansion pack around CQC. They could of just removed vehicles from the TDM versions of these maps if they wanted a vehicle-less experience. I think by now the people playing BF3 aren't the same people who play CoD. I just dont see any true BF fan wanting this.

I also think back to how horribly designed their current indoor map, Op Metro is, and theres no way they dont screw this up.

I'm guessing there's gonna be destructibility along the lines of the first Red Faction sooo if that's the case CQC could be cool.

Yea true, at least id hope so. There isn't much destructibility in Op Metro tho.

I don't mind the close quarters stuff. I still think BF could have better close quarters maps. Grand Bazaar was fairly close quarters and that map craps all over anything in Modern Warfare 3

Yea that's true. I LOVE Grand Bazaar, but that map still has a vehicle presence.

I mean I guess it's fair, BF will get some close qtrs stuff then it will receive it's largest map ever.
