BBC's Sherlock: Series 2

I just started watching this show, I love Cumberbatch and Freeman together they're great. My biggest problems with the show so far are that the mysteries are just not that great. I should never be able to figure it out before Sherlock explains it at the end but I have so far easily. My second problem is that Moriarty is awful, just awful.

However, I am curious about the cameo at the end. What was/when he was arrested? Was it a result of the contents on Adler's phone? Also, did anyone see that he hacked John's blog? Check it out...of course, the video might not work, as BBC's embedded player is very, very picky.
I forgot Moriarty was at the very end, that wasn't his cameo I was talking about. I didn't like [BLACKOUT]how Sherlock saw him in the fear gas.[/BLACKOUT] When did he hack Watson's blog?

As soon as Moriarty revealed himself I knew people would hate him but I personally love him. He's just totally not what you'd expect.

I really enjoyed this episode, I liked the fact it was set outside of London and we saw a more human side of Sherlock, I won't spoil for people who have yet to see it, but I really enjoyed!

Wow, I watched A Scandal In Belgravia last night - (will need to find Hounds online as well) - and it was just great from start to finish. Definitely my favorite episode for now...Quality stuff.

I loved the whole bit with the hat and this depiction of Irene kept me interested the entire time. Just about everything about this episode all the way till the end was brilliant. I enjoyed it so much that I'm going to watch it a second time.

I'm still a little mixed on Moriarty, but looking forward to catching up on the next ep.

The plot thickens.

I think he would have worked better as a more pragmatic reserved character.
Instead he's a he-he-ho-ho campy low rent Joker.

The terrorists had cracked the British codes and were going to blow up a plane. The British didn't want this to happen obviously, but also didn't want the terrorists to know the codes had been cracked. So the solution was to keep the plane on course but instead seat it with dead people, without anyone knowing. This swould result in a successful terrorist attack that didn't result in any casualties. This is why the people wanted to see their loved one's bodies, because they had been used on the plane.

Thanks, that makes sense.

To be honest, this episode looked so much worse because it followed the perfection that was a Scandal in Belgravia.

I thought Hounds was good. Obviously not as good as Scandal, but much better then the second episode of last season.

Yeah I definitely agree. I loved how Jared Harris played him in the movie. I think this Sherlock going against Jared Harris' Moriarty would be absolutely phenomenal.

BBC iPlayer is your friend, or more more accurately it's Tunnel Bear's friend. Neil Gaiman is a champian of Tunnel Bear but I've never used it.

I liked this episode, despite the former episode being much better.

Heh, appreciate that, but I've found the episodes on dailymotion. Thanks though.

Hounds was still a decent episode IMO. I liked that it stemmed away from the usual setting and seemed to really pit Sherlock against himself and his way of thinking. The premiere was definitely superior but I still enjoyed this. The delivery of the classic Truth quote by the fire was great.

Can't wait for the finale.

Why was Moriarty [blackout]locked up[/blackout] and why did Mycroft [blackout]let him go[/blackout]? Did I miss something?

I see. Weird. This is where I think that more than three episodes could in handy. The ending felt really tacked on. And while I'm sure it is important to next week's episode, with more than three episodes, there could have been some build up.

Not to mention, I'd love any excuse to watch more of this show.:woot:

I really liked the Baskerville episode and didn't find it the letdown I feared it would be after reading this thread. I agree with Infinity that it was way better than the second episode of last season. I thought it was a clever modernization tying the hounds to experiments on a military base instead of making them a local ghost story. The only thing that left me slightly puzzled was how [BLACKOUT] Sherlock was in agony over seeing a gigantic, glowing dog. He already knew that the lab had managed to make a bunny florescent, so it should have come as no surprise that they could make a gigantic, red-eyed, glowing dog as well. [/BLACKOUT]

It wasn't glowing when he saw it, he added that to subplant it in Watson's head to test his theory.

Also, unlike other TV shows, this is set in the real world and they have glow in the dark bunnys/cats/etc but they aren't making gigantic, red-eyed dogs. He knew it couldn't be real but suddenly he saw it and so he was having a crisis of faith almost, his logic wasn't what it he thought it was till he later descovered what was actually going on.

My point is, in a world where bunnies can be made florescent, what's so crazy about a dog that's been genetically manipulated to be extremely large with glowing red eyes?

That was bloomin brilliant. Moriarty really came into his own and the last 20 minutes I was on the edge of my seat.

Roll on series three!

Bloody hell....

Moriarty-
What's the betting they'll explain his suicide away as a blank and a specialist blood pack stuck on his head?

Sherlock-
Bloody Hell.... HOW THE ****???? seriously, how the **** did he survive the fall?

Watson-
Damn good acting from Freeman.....

Since he died in the original stories and it's a nice end to his character, I don't think so. You never know but I think it would be a bad move on Moffat/Gatiss's part.

Gotta wait until tomorrow for this to come online. Please tell me Moriarty isn't annoying in this episode.

While i never found him annoying to begin with...... i think he was a bit relaxed compared to the 1st season finale
