BBC's Sherlock: Series 2

Wow, what a great episode. It took a little time to get used to the way the show is shot but it was great.

Moriarty is still annoying. I just don't understand the portrayal at all.

How long is the running time in the states with added adverts?

A normal "Hour long" show in the states is actually more like 42mins. So that means for a normal show each episode is about half of Sherlock. That makes Sherlock's 3 episodes the same as 6 standard US shows, witch is about normal for UK shows even if it is REALLY annyoing(!)

It plays on Masterpiece Theater in the US, so there aren't any commercials.

Finally watched it today, great episode! And I guessed that the safe code was Irene's statistics, as sherlock put it in - im not sure if that makes me quite bright or just a pervert, great start though leaving me hungry for the next episode!

Shame Cumberbatch's star is rising so the likelyhood of him as a patient is zero.

He could play the patient that is as smart as House.

No, I actually mean his Holmes meeting Laurie's House, in some sort of crazy cross over. It would never happen, but it would be fun to see them try and out-deduce each other.

Guys, spoilers please, some of us haven't seen it yet.

Then why come to the thread? Generally, 24 hours after a show airs, spoiler tags are no longer required.

I also don't buy the character as Moriarty. He's just not refined enough. He's like Moriarty's annoying nephew or something.

This hasn't aired yet in the States, correct?

Now I just gotta find somewhere to watch it online. Happy times :awesome:.

Can someone explain to me how Adler ended the marriage of the famous novelist? Something to do with a secretary?

Mycroft's line is tripping me up for some reason.

You mean sleeping with both the wife and husband at the same time?

"She's been at the center of two political scandals in the last year, and recently ended the marriage of a prominent novelist by having an affair with both participants separately."

Wow. I'm dumb .

In any case, I loved this episode. Admittedly I was underwhelmed by the resolution of last season's cliffhanger, and the first ten minutes or so moved at break-neck speed, but once we got into the bulk of the main story it was just a fantastic episode all around.

Bring on the hounds :awesome::up:.

As much as I love Rachel McAdams her Adler is not even close to Pulver's. Most of the fault goes to the writers of the movies though. Pulver exudes so much sexiness as Adler but at the same time you know she would eat you alive but you still wouldn't care.

Not everyone has BBC1
There is an app for that. You install it and it pipes your computers IP to different countries so you can watch region locked streaming sites like BBC iPlayer. I've tried to Google it but it doesn't help that I forget the apps name.

Bloody Neil Gaiman, if he didn't tweet so much I'd be able to find it on his twitter feed but that was months ago and he's a Twitter-olic.

I think you are all made, I'd much rather see Rachel McAdams walk about naked on screen for Sherlock to get her measurements than Lara Pulver. Shame the movie Sherlock is so subpar though.

I really loved this recation to the nakedness. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...-Holmes-BBC-raunchy-pre-watershed-scenes.html
Sherlock and the case of nudity before 9pm: BBC under fire for raunchy pre-watershed scenes in adaptation of Conan Doyle classic (catchy headline)
Oh and did anyone notice the photos of the really non-offensive nakedness in the rest of the artical? I can't believe they'd show naked people on TV but we'll print it in our paper?!

The old Daily Mail and their never ending vendetta against the BBC.

They didn't show any genitalia and only last year or the year before Channel 4 did that full frontal nude model painting show at 12pm midday.

I really like Moriarty in this. It's certainly very different to the one we are all familiar with but his zanyness both amuses and slightly unnerves me, especially when he shouts at seemingly random moments. Unlike the previous Moriarty's he seems truly unhinged and unpredictable.

He's not a patch on Jared Harris though.

Know where I can find this online? I'm aching for it. i'm in a Cumberbatch mood now that learning he's is in the ST sequel.

Well the first series is on Netflix instant, but if you don't have access to that then Google along with a few keywords will certainly lead you in the right direction.

Mildly interested before, but now that Cumberbatch has been cast in Star Trek will definitely Netflix this.

Cumberbatch in Star Trek 2 just makes me a little sad. I don't want Cumberbatch and Freeman getting too big so they won't get time to make more episodes. I also really don't want their heads getting too big and they start asking themselfs why they are doing TV when Hollywood has started calling with the mega bucks.
