BBC's Sherlock: Series 2

I just realized:

They never did specify how Moriarty implanted Holme's image in the children's mind. This makes me wonder if it is somehow connected to the mind control techniques in 'Hounds' or something entirely different. I suspect it is how Holmes deceived Watson into believing his death.
What if?
Holmes actually was in on it? :o
Just throwing ideas at the wall now.haha

Martin Freeman was superb in the final episode. His final scene was fantastic, and utterly believable in every respect. The way he reverted to his military past to compose himself, with his abrupt about turn as he walked off was just perfect for the character.

Loved the episode, definitely another great send off. However, as someone who always liked this Moriarty, I'm sad they
adapted The Final Problem
so soon. Especially since Freeman said he could see himself doing this for years to come.

The last episode was one of few that had me on the edge of my seat with a legit "WTF?!?!" moment. Pretty fantastic, but really curious how they'll ring in the next season.

Unfortunately I only had the chance to watch bits as I had to look after my one year old.

Guys, with regards to Moriarty...

Was it really him? He's not an actor for a kids show then? What a way for him to go. This really was a Batman/Joker dynamic which someone pointed out earlier.

From what I saw, this show deserves several awards and will probably push the two main leads into the upper stratosphere when it comes to being the "it" men for films. (if they're not there already).

So I have some crow to eat. Moriarty was freakin' fantastic in this episode. I have nothing bad to say about that performance. Kudos to Andrew Scott. He won me over in the end.

God. If that ending wasn't a tear-jerker, then I don't know the meaning of the word. Great episode all around.

Well Freeman is playing Bilbo Baggins. Cumberbatch is the Trek 2 villain and Smaug.

Freeman sort of had a false start with Hitchhiker's Guide since that failed really.

But the Moriarty in this series is still terrible. Jared Harris was more like Moriarty to me.

This version of Moriarty is very much like Heath Ledge's punk rock version of The Joker . While Jared Harris portrayal of Moriarty is more of a direct adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle envision from the novels.

Ofcourse with Moffat the easiest solution is always the way out

He did it with faking the doctors death

He found a simple exit for Sherlock and Watsons predicament
With the bomb and snipers

Then faked Irene adlers death twice

-body in morgue
-beheading

For Sherlock I think he took a drug to numb himself so he wouldn't feel the fall

Even if Sherlock couldn't feel the fall it wouldn't make a difference since it would still kill him.

One thing I don't understand about the idea that he actually landed. The final scene of the episode doesn't seem to have happened all that long after the Final Problem. How would Sherlock be physically unmarked if he actually had landed on the street?

I believe I read somewhere or it was mentioned on the show it had been a few months when Watson talked to the therapist/visited the grave. Enough time to heal some of the stuff.

It will be another easy out when they come back for series 3

I think Watson THOUGHT he saw Sherlock fall due to his disorientated state.

Sherlock probably played on that. He threw a corpse off the building

Then quickly went down and acted out the fall.

Sherlock: "Thanks, Joanne."
Molly: "It's Molly."
Sherlock: "Yes."

:lmao:

How could it have been a corpse falling off the building? We saw Sherlock actually jump, and his arms and legs were flailing as he fell.

I'm sure Sherlock jump into the truck that was passing by, seems to much of a coincidence while at the same time this is where Molly came in handy with helping laying a dead person with the same clothes as Sherlock's and which was quickly taken by the hospital staff so Watson couldn't get a good look at it, anyway he was dizzy getting hit by the cyclist.

Early next year at the earliest but most likely later. They both have other huge roles in the meantime (Hobbit, Star Trek).

Loved this episode. The eind was truly amazing. I tried to observe what was around. John getting his by the cyclist was a big hint. I'm liking all these theories I'm hearing. I'll watch it again to see.

John getting hit by the cyclist has definitely got something to do with it. I thought that when I first saw it and now seeing other people think that too, makes me more positive. Great, great episode.

Misdirection/Confusion by cyclist

I could definitely see that happening

CBS is going to produce it's own modern telling of Sherlock Holmes except he'll be American and it will take place in NYC. To me this falls into the wft category. Is much rather they come up with their own take on the characters they way Ritchie and Sherlock have then to do an American remake of Sherlock, but that's me.

Those are all very good theories. I honestly think if any of that is untrue I'm going to be surprised as hell and hopefully impressed.
