lordofthenerds said:People are being "negative" because from the script review this movie sounds like a Jack Black comedy with a bunch of lame jokes thats only purpose are to mock the Green Lantern character. And the Green Lantern deserves much better. Its what I call raping the source material.
Wesyeed said:Haters just enjoy hating everything. give Jack black's Lantern a chance.
Superman: Idols said:But why? We know Green Lantern, and we know Jack Black's style of comedy. There's no need to wait--if you don't like the combo now, you won't like it opening day.
BTW, I think this script will never get made. WB has trouble "smell-testing" projects, but I remain confident that some young "it" director that loves GL either from the comic or JLU will step in and save WB's ass.

The movie's not the comic... ha ha ha
read the comic if you want to experience it so much ha ha ha

Sardaukar said:Look guys, companies have to make these films to appeal to the masses the best they can. Corporations like WB are ultimately responsible to shareholders, not to fanboy dreams. People like Jack Black. People like comedies. People like Green Lantern. Hence, people will really like Jack Black playing a comedic Green Lantern! This is an intriguing combination and possibly a surefire summer hit! I hope WB makes a lot of profit from this. If this film makes at least $150 million domestically, it will be proof that people love this film and that it is a good film!![]()

"If it makes at least $150 million"....Never gonna happen, kid. You'll see Gigli 2: Ben-Jen Boogaloo before you'll see this film pull in 150 million...domestically or internationally.

The "If this film makes at least $150 million domestically, it will be proof that people love this film and that it is a good film!" geez isn't that what F4 made ?
I don't know how you think ppl being outraged at this purposed GL treatment is wrong b/c some of the same ppl were ok with the F4 changes...probably b/c you don't
shinlyle said:Have you ever tried drinking Bleach? No? then you should give it a chance!!
See the parallel there? If something is so blatantly stupid an idea, then it shouldn't be given a chance. CINO should have never been made. Gigli should have never been made. Howard the Duck should never have been made. Superman 3 & 4 should never have been made. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin should never have been made. Yet, some idiot at each studio responsible thought, "WOW...if people will just give it a chance, it'll be great!!"
Guess what...they weren't great. This won't be great. If it's made, it'll be a financial and critical failure, and you'll get to sit in the same section with the 10 or 12 people who supported CINO, and be the laughing stock of everyone else in the free world with half a freakin' brain.
Besides....I don't think of it as "hating"....more like weeding through stupidity.
Sardaukar said:The potential number of people who would see this film widely outnumber those who care about whether or not it sticks to the comics. Everyone was predicting FF would bomb. People were eviscerating it online...at sites like Ain't it Cool. It didn't bomb. Why? Because it was a really good, fun movie like this one might be.
why all the hate on howard the duck? I loved that movie. it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Anyway, this movie is a bad idea. it'll bomb worse than Cino. And the people who are even supporting this crap must not be GL fans. There's no way a true comic fan will want to see this.shinlyle said:Have you ever tried drinking Bleach? please stop comparing this to F4. they are totally different. F4 with the exception of Doom was true to the comics. The history of the F4 is basically comedic so for people to say the movie is off is false. The only thing off in the movie was Dr.Doom. This movie is way off from the jump.Sardaukar said:The potential number of people who would see this film widely outnumber those who care about whether or not it sticks to the comics.
