So Matt Reeves just followed Geoff Johns on twitter. Read into that as you may.

I NEED this.

Apparently started following Snyder too. Aww yisss, it's happening! :awesome:

I dont see Snyder there, but he definetely follows Johns, and Justink Kroll(the guy who broke the Affleck leaving story) did say Reeves was the frontrunner for the job, so I definitely see this happening. Having a good director like Reeves take over would certainly lessen the blow.

I honestly think all these followings are them trolling us. Like with Hal Jordan.

I dont think Matt Reeves is going to suddenly troll us. He isnt even that active on twitter. Well we did get to know about Manganiello and Rick through twitter.

On the other hand Armie Hammer is a known troll. He is hilarious guy.

Yeah man I hope I'm wrong.

You guys really need to stop getting excited over who follows who on twitter.
I would really like to see or hear more about the damage Batman did to Joker. There has never been a live action version where Batman was truly brutal with The Joker yet the later still doesn't back down.

This! Great post :mnm:

Matt Reeves has made some of my favorite movies. Cloverfield. Dawn of the Apes. Probably soon to be War of the Apes. Beyond the Town, he has a better track record of quality or entertaining films compared to Affleck. I'm optimistic.

Well, King you just saved me some time I'd otherwise spent Googling. Never heard of the guy before.

As much as I respect and admire Affleck's directorial achievements, I think Matt Reeves or someone of his ilk would be better suited to the task of helming a Batman film, specifically one set in a larger-than-life cinematic universe. Like Ben, Reeves is a great visual storyteller capable of eliciting nuanced and grounded performances from his actors. What gives him the slight—yet all important—edge, however, is his flair for grand-scale action and evocative imagery.

Yeah, these recent developments could very well turn out for the best.

Some people say Matt turned down mos why would he want Batman?

I'd say after watching the ape movie you could see why he would do a Bat film over a Sup film, his style is exactly what mos' criticisms were - heavy, dull, and not enough smile from Sup.

How many times did Caesar smile in the film?

Ape 2 style would work great for a Bat film while get blasted on a Sup film. The Ape movie was brilliant but pretty dang heavy.

Geoff Johns began his career as a production assistant for Richard Donner. Naturally being a low level guy on a film set doesn't automatically grant him any qualifications, it just means the world of film isn't completely alien to him.

The reality is that WB desperately needs somebody to coordinate and world-build this universe. That is Geoff Johns' most singular qualification; there is probably no one working in the industry today who has more experience (and success) with the DC Universe (keeping in mind that guys like Denny O'Neil are retired).

Whether he's set up for success is a big question. The DCEU (in my opinion, of course) is a garbage fire right now, and the people who made it that way are still involved--so whether Johns is able to turn it around or if he's allowed to turn it around is a challenge. His ability to work in film is another question, yes, but I think it's secondary.

I know how he started. I'm just saying...I wouldn't put much faith in Johns right now.

I liked Cloverfield, didn't care for The Apes movie he made though. Does he have anything else worth watching?
