the busier the design, the better when it comes to batsuits. You have to justify how this guy is able to contribute to the mission when his peers are demi-gods. The more armor, gadgets and weapons you give him, and the more intricate and battle-ready his get-up is the better

I'm generally not a fan of ostentatious or excessively detailed Batman suits. This new tactical suit, however, looks like it was born out of an attempt to improve upon the shortcomings of the Hemming-Nolan costumes while retaining some of the conceptual value. And the result is a far more aesthetically pleasing design. Busy as it most certainly is, what I see in the tactical suit is something that's still unabashedly Batman (which I didn't really get from the aforementioned Hemming suits); and that's what's most important to me.

Kinda reminds me of the Arkham Orgins suit

This is so much better because they busy part is on top of an actual batman suit, it's not just a overly busy rubber looking suit. This thing actually looks like a REAL tactical Batman suit, as in if super heroes were real this is what Batman would actually wear. The Nolan suits never felt that way to me.

The JL tactical suit manages to maintain the superhero V-shape look since the segments are much simpler in design and are selectively lighter in color to make them stand out, the TDK suit had minimal color difference and the design of all the pieces just made them blend together and look messy when you look at it. Only thing I actively dislike about the JL tactical suit are the goggles, they just seem like an afterthought and don't really fit in with the rest of the suit, should've been actual lenses built into the cowl in that iconic Batman eye shape. I do still prefer the simplicity of the standard suit though.

I actually wish they did what Deadpool did with animating the eyes. It helped give Deadpool a little more personality under the mask.

I agree almost entirely.

The tactical goggles makes it look like Batman's so cool he wears shades into battle.

Well, you know, fans complained about the DC movies being too dark, so they overcompensated for the future ones, and the future's so bright, he gotta wear shades.

Works for Deadpool. Wouldn't work as good for Batman, who is a more serious character. And you can see the actor's REAL eyes and mouth, which convey the character plenty of personality. Much more than animation would.

And as much as I love the tactical suit (it looks dope!), I just LOVE his standard suit as seen in Batman V Superman

But I really think that Zack Snyder did a bang-up job with pretty much every suit in the League. I love Flash's suit. It's a perfect cinematic version IMO.

IMO, it'd look better without the goggles. They, ahem, do nothing for it. Otherwise it looks like what its supposed to be: a hardened, more heavily armored batsuit.

Also, I strongly suspect it has more high tech accoutrements, they are just all done via CGI.

The tactical suit looks almost exactly like Night Owl ...

You know that Nite Owl's costume is heavily inspired by Batman, right?

Durrr, I totally didn't know about that. Tell me more, George. /s

Yeah, absolutely identical because of the goggles. /s

The goggles are basically the exact shape of the Night Owl costume. And the cowl is similarly shaped as well.

I'm allowed to think it's a bit uninspired.

I don't find it particularly compelling fully lit on a mannequin. But I do think it'll look good in the film with Affleck inhabiting it.

Batman's cowl looks similiar to the cowl of the dude whose costume is inspired by Batman.
Great thought process there.

Night Owl's cowl, while inspired by Batman's, definitely looks flatter at the top (because he's an owl).

This Batman cowl looks flatter at the top, too. I don't like it.

-> both costumes look almost identical!
--> the cowls are very similiar!
---> the cowls are both flatter at the top!

Thanks for this great discussion.
