Probably because Hammer has generally failed whenever he's been put in major roles for big films. Why? He would be great choice.

Sometime in December/January. 100% certain.

Micromind, someone probably believes based off Hammer's past roles and experience, he's not a good fit for Batman. So ?
It shouldn't be a basis for his future projects, unless he is the reason why those movies failed.
I wouldn't mind if he stays or leaves, I'm fine with both scenarios.
He looks a bit too innocent. Jake Gyllenhaal would be perfect.
I'd rather Affleck stay because I don't want them to recast the roles already. But the man looks absolutely miserable playing Batman.
You just described Ben Affleck pre-BvS.Armie Hammer had some success in The Social Network, but after that, most of his major roles in films have been a bust. And very little about him seems to scream Batman other than that he's a sort of got the height thing down.

Isn't that the purpose of a dual identity? Bruce Wayne wouldn't want the whole world reading from his face that he's Batman. Years ago, Michael Keaton blew everyone's minds when he played that dual identity to perfection. Even I as a viewer, had trouble trying to reconcile that they're really the same person.

Anyhoo, yeah I've long let go of holding onto Ben's future here. I had BvS (and appreciated his part in it), but it seems he's receded in looks/performance, so it's no huge loss for me at this point.
I agree with everything. Well said. Not really.. Affleck was well received in Good Will Hunting, The Town, Hollywoodland, and Argo. He also got a good reception for Gone Girl, even though he was upstaged by a part of himself.
So with Hammer..it's actually riskier..but I hear he's been doing really well with his recent films.
TBH, I haven't been impressed with any of his JL footage. I think it just feels kind of 'there.'
I don't want to risk Affleck sleepwalking through a solo film. I'd rather a slightly more intense actor take on the new role..and then dial it back now and then.
I think Affleck can bring it when he cares..but it really feels like a "paycheck role" in JL.
Hammer definitely got the push too early but he'll not be the first or last to do that. I mean, Ryan Reynolds got the push and it really was years before he found his blockbuster vehicle.
....in Green Lantern.....
I personally hope Affleck sticks around. I really do.
