This is how he looked before reshoots, he looked a lot better then.

He actually looks decent here.

He looks perfectly fine in every reshoot scene except the bits where he had a beard. I don't know if it's the lighting, the angle, the bad wig, the fact that it was a fake beard maybe? But yeah he looked perfectly fine in every other scene by Whedon.

In fact, I'd say he looks almost TOO good. I think they might have digitally slimmed Affleck's face down. I know he has a bit of tub on his neck that looks really unflattering whenever you see his profile and in JL that was completely gone. That, coupled with Affleck having had a chubbier face in real life while the reshoots were happening leads me to believe that they slimmed down his cheeks and that tub thing he has going on was digitally erased in the process. If it IS what they did, I'm fine with it. It's completely unnoticeable and that unflattering jawline was a bit distracting. A sharper jawline is preferibile.

I dunno if they are capable of digitally slimming down Affleck's face, even if technology allows it, because they miserably failed to digitally remove Cavill's mustache, in addition they made his lower jaw look bad.

It's one thing to digitally reduce something, it's a whole other thing to digitally recreate someone's whole lower face. Plus, it's not so cut and dry. Yes the digital facial hair removal was unpardonably bad in the cellphone footage but it was pretty seamless in other parts.

Come to think of it, I did get the impression that something looked off with his face at times during the movie - I just assumed that he'd had some kind of cosmetic work done as he generally looked 'smoother', like he'd had both botox and fillers. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they did it digitally, after all they gave him CG definition in the shirtless BvS training scene.

This would have been what he looked like pre-digital slimming:

Not earth-shatteringly awful but definitely more volume in the cheeks.

Nope, they digitally re-created it 'cause Cavill was still under contract on MI:6. Paramount pretty much didn't allow him to shave his 'stache off for the JL reshoots.

@Skulldevil he's talking about Affleck not Cavill

Affleck only had a puffy face in a couple of scenes. Its the poor lighting and color grading from Whedon that made him look far worse.

How he looked in BvS :

Its not that he is A LOT fatter...its that it looks bad because of the color grading.

Also in terms of the batcave scene, both screencaps grabbed from BTS videos. Pre grading to compare how they looked. Notice the difference in lighting.

BTW : I think the digital slimming theory is totally bogus. Affleck was more fit during BvS, and you just chose a single bad screenshot. Affleck was obviously puffier during the JL reshoots. And I dont think he was ever digitally slimmed down, just different phases of shoots, since the reshoots took place over a span of 2-3 months which is a long time for change in physique to take place.

It doesn't matter to me if Ben gains weight, as long as he loses it when he has to start being Batman again.

Welp, his post followed the one with the Cavill pic hence the confusion. ^^'

My post crossed with GothamBats and I was clearly talking about Affleck; I mean - Cavill didnt have a shirtless BvS training scene, did he? :oldrazz:

Our last two Batman's have fluctuated in weight tremendously between filming. It's a bizarre pattern.

Don't matter. He still had shirtless scenes in that movie. :o

Cavill has funny little T-rex arms... Probably just because his upper body is next level swole

Are you comparing Bale’s obsessive commitment to his roles to Affleck’s love of pizza and beer?
