Justice League Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 6

the fact that we live in world where Zack Snyder gets to show his movie and Ben Affleck is in a good enough place to close out his turn at Batman is more than enough for me. I wasn't a huge fan of these films but Ben deserves to go out on better terms.

I'm basing that off of previous work and I'm confident with that. Lol to each his own.
Yeah I like matt reeves movie way more than snyders. I loved war of the apes. But dawn or whatever the last ones called was my least favorite I think.

It's funny - I feel WB know they got very lucky with 'Joker' and won't go back to that...

Also, ZSJL will feature him, as will, I am sure, the new Matt Reeves version so it's safe to say Pheonix won't be back and I am kinda glad, I don't know where it can go without losing or undoing the first.

With Affleck, with a better hair trim, style, fitting clothes, Hollywood magic, he'll look great - Actors if they wanna portray younger they always lose weight...

Flash is definitely his way out and if he can sit there and say his Batman was BvS director cut, ZSJL and flashpoint - that's 3 worthy movies.

Also, if this world loses its batman, then it's prime for B89 to leave his world for or at least opens up the possibility the two worlds merge and alters the time line.

I really hate the idea of Keaton as this universe’s Batman.

If Flashpoint really is the end of Ben's tenure I hope he gets a hell of a sendoff.

Yeah I hoped we would've gotten thomas wayne for flashs film. A scene with bruce and thomas....lawdy. Ben and jeffrey would've been awesome together.

You saw ZSJL???!
We all know what happens in JL 2 and 3. So yeah, it sounds like a disaster. The only reason I’d be interested to see those movies made is to see more Darkseid and that setting (but Furiosa is officially coming so now there’s no need :) ).

A 50 year old Amy Adams playing a pregnant Lois to 40 somethin Superman? I mean, Clark just arrived into his classic characterization and yet BAM! just like that he’s playing a evil/super serious Kal-El again? I don’t know about you guys but that Knightmare timeline only works in small doses. No matter how cool it looks. I want to see more of it but not an entire movie. Why? More Amber Heard? More Joe Manganiello? More Jared Leto? More Ezra Miller? And less Gal Gadot? Less Jason Momoa? DI-SA-STER.

Then you got the basic premise of Chapter 3 which is just a repeat of Endgame. Even if it turns out to be the better version...the world has seen Endgame already.

I also find another alien invasion from Darkseid overkill after both Zod & Steppenwolf. It makes me wish Snyder made this movie with Darkseid coming to earth with Steppenwolf by his side, and Spiky Boi gets killed halfway through the story. Zack was thinking too far ahead instead of putting all his eggs into one basket.

Give me this JL movie in two months and end it on a high note. Continue it via comics with Jim Lee. Ben exits via Flashpoint. Keaton continues to mentor Batgirl within the Burtonverse. Pattinson/Reeves deliver a Year-Two “world’s greatest detective” noir for a new generation in a gothic yet grounded stand-alone. Earth has been corrected and Shauner is happy.

Yeah that would’ve been cool, but it’ll be something to see Keaton and Affleck share the screen too.
Ive never been a fan of the keatons batman movies so its not that exciting for me. But yes, keaton and ben together will be great to see.

You know, if he put Darkseid as the main villain in the first JL movie, people would have complained that he rushed it, and rightly so imo.

I still find it very weird how close the plotlines for IW/Endgame and JL2/3 are. And since we kinda know now what the plotline is, it kinda takes the excitement away ofc. But I'm very sure in an alternate world where we didnt...that story had a lot of potential and could have been something special.

I'm pretty sure all of this will turn out correct. We are getting JL, and Ben is not gonna be around forever as Batman ofc. Keaton will probably wanna do another movie but im not sure if he will do it without Burton. I was very excited for Pattinson's Batman, and Reeves is a genius, but the trailer...

Something feels off about it. It seems very Zodiac-y, which I love, and "Im vengeance" has to be among the top 5 Batman moments in cinema for sure, but something feels really off about the movie, and I cant put my finger on it. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think it’s safe to make the bet I’m making. Lol I think I’ll enjoy Reeves’ film more than the SC, without a doubt.

& I saw MoS and BvS. Lol it had moments I enjoyed, but more and more of that does not sound like a good idea to me. I think it’s best to move on after the SC. There’s already more interesting artists involved in their projects imo.

This seems like you’re looking for what’s wrong lol and I don’t see Keaton getting “his” movie. Burton doesn’t need to be anywhere near any of this. He hopped on Flash without him, I don’t see why he’d need him now. Keaton would be in other characters films. Not his own.

Hyperbole? Nah. The Batman teaser is probably my favourite trailer of all time and it literally ticks all the boxes that I’ve been wanting to see my entire life:

Gothic city but real/grimy looking? Check. Smaller budget, detective noir/thriller? Check. In control Batman (like Keaton)? Check. POV shots & Leone-esque closeups? Check. Gangster Penguin? Check. Undercover Bruce? Check. Batmobile is a car again? Check.

As for Justice League, well, after revisiting MOS and BvS twice each in the last few months...I can say that Snyder may be putting out his best and most Snyder work yet. I don’t expect another JL movie for another 10 years. So this better be damn good.

With Snyder filming 4 hours of footage, I know it was discussed that this version was still not his original plan. So I'm curious how he was going to leave Superman originally at the end of JL.

How was Darkseid going to be handled at the end of JL3? Did Snyder ever say?

Probably killed by Superman or by Batman when he sacrifices himself (just like Tony Stark, with the funeral and everything).

I really hate the idea of Keaton as this universe’s Batman.
He will be this universe's Bruce Wayne....
However...
Batman 2.0
Batwoman
Batgirl
Battlestar Galactica

Can all be the way forward to differentiate from 'The Batman'.......

Yeah guys that Keaten thing was already debunked. Time to move on from that fake Twitter garbage.

Why does he deserve anything?

I seriously doubt Keaton replaces Affleck in his universe. It makes no sense and it would show how DC films have no idea what a multi-verse means.

My theory is that Barry Allen goes back in time and stops Joe Chill from killing Bruce’s parents (after he has a final goodbye to Batfleck). Nobody dies and Bruce goes on to live a somewhat “normal” billionaire lifestyle following in the footsteps of Thomas/Martha. Batman does not exist on Earth 1 anymore. Barry took away Bruce’s pain but Flash knows there are multiple universes where different Bruce Wayne’s exist and operate in the shadows as Batman.

Throughout the second act, he witnesses Keaton’s Batman as a 70 year old loner in a gothic fairytale of a city and possibly befriends him. Is there a way for Barry to bring Keaton into his Earth One because although he gave his friend Ben Affleck/Batfleck his ultimate wish (to see his mom and dad again)...now the consequence is that Gotham is an even worse **** hole and has nobody protecting it. And what if another alien invasion hits? So although I’m of the belief that Flash sees Keaton in the Burtonverse and they simply continue in that world when they do a Batgirl movie....IF you’re gonna try to bring Keaton into the Justice League universe, i would have Flash bring Keaton into Earth One where he meets J.K Simmons/Gordon’s 20 year old daughter Barbara. Keaton then mentors her and acts as a Nic Fury to Ezra, Gal, Jason and Henry’s League. Again that’s not how I’d go about it because I think it’s too confusing and defeats the purpose of having a multi-verse in the first place. But I wouldn’t put it passed them.

I DO think Batfleck doesn’t die but his past is fixed by the Flash and he never grows up to be Batman. Instead of Snyder’s sacrificial death, we get a more optimistic ending for that version of Bruce Wayne. He literally walks off in the distance, happy as Bruce Wayne.

However, the eight years since then have been anything but smooth sailing for Affleck. Just six months after the Academy Awards, he baffled the industry — and lost a lot of goodwill — when it was announced that he had signed on to play Batman in Zack Snyder's Warner Bros. comic book adaptation Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Here was a guy who had been given in a second chance, and this was what he wanted to do with it? Did he need money that badly?

That film came out in 2016 and had the eighth biggest opening weekend on record — but also registered at just 28 percent on RottenTomatoes.com. He reprised the character in Suicide Squad (2016), which received even worse reviews, and in Justice League (2017), Todd McCarthy's THR review of which noted that Affleck "looks like he'd rather be almost anywhere else but here."

Around the same time, Affleck's biggest-budgeted directorial effort, 2016's Live by Night, bombed. His marriage to actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children, came to an end. And, he acknowledges, "I realized I was an alcoholic."

How does he look back at that time now?

"I did Batman because I wanted to do it for my kids," explains Affleck, who has agreed to don the Batsuit one more time in The Flash, which is due out in 2022. "I wanted to do something that my son would dig. I mean, my kids didn't see Argo." He continues, "Zack [Snyder] wanted to do a version of the Frank Miller Dark Knight graphic novel series, which is a really good version of that. Unfortunately, there are a lot of reasons why things go the way they do in the movie business, and just because your face is on the poster doesn't mean that you're dictating all of those things — and even if you were, that they would go well." He adds, "I wore the suit to my son's birthday party, which was worth every moment of suffering on Justice League."

Affleck continues, "I started drinking too much around the time of Justice League, and it's a hard thing to confront and face and deal with. I've been sober for a while now, and I feel really good — as healthy and good as I've ever felt. And the process of recovering from alcoholism has been really instructive. I think it's great for people who aren't alcoholics, you know? Like, 'Be honest. Have integrity. Take accountability. Help other people.' It's a good set of things that they teach you. It took me a little while to get it — I had a few slips, like most people — but I feel really good." He adds, "If you knew how many actors and directors and writers were alcoholics or compulsive in some way — I mean, it's the most ordinary thing in the world in Hollywood. I've worked with actors who showed up drunk! And that was not me. I drank, like, alone in my living room and just passed out, like, with scotch. But I got sober."

He only realized he was an alcoholic after BvS? What about his drunk driving arrest and going to rehab years before? Didn't he even go on one of those Barbara Walters type interviews and claimed he quit drinking?

In other words he relapsed.

I do think they'll do some dimensional merge thing and bring Keaton into the 'regular' DCEU but I would much prefer this. That would be a beautiful ending for Batfleck, way less obvious than killing him.

How is Keaton’s Batman going back to Earth 1 with Barry and being his own version of Batman (not “replacing” Affleck) not an understanding of the multiverse? Because he doesn’t stay in his own world?

Flash going back to kill Joe Chill for Affleck’s Bruce is touching though.
