I mean whether every kid does it or not isn’t really the point. Plenty of kids do and some way or another, his kids saw the movie and liked it enough that he borrowed the costume for a bday party. So seems like a win in that respect.

His son was 6, at the time of BvS, the girls a few years older... 6 year old watching doomsday, creed finger licking lex and lois in the bath... sure.

He seemed pretty committed. He did a cameo in Suicide Squad, was supposed to have his own solo franchise. Had all of his appearances not be torn to rubbish and the films made profit+positive reviews, he likely would've stayed on. But 3 films back2back that were trashed? Easier on him to just say im done.

Eh I don’t see it that way, Suicide Squad was no biggie I believe it was 1 days work and he signed on knowing the plan was for his Batman to die. I think he was talked into the Batman solo movie, you could tell in press for BvS he looked like he wanted out imo.

I think the pitch zs gave the cast, is an interesting, exciting one. the 5 movie plan seemed plausible and different.
however, once zs started his work, execs went cold - due to marvel, box office and chatter. they wanted to play it safe and tragedy gave them a perfect window to do that.

Yeah it became a mess, they weren’t even willing to stick to the plan before the plan had even got going.

Lois may be in a bath but she’s not exposed on screen. It’s still a Batman/Superman movie. If I had kids I’d let them watch Doomsday lol what was wrong with that? Burton’s Penguin was much worse and I saw that at age 4.

but there are standards and rule of thumb to protect those that cannot handle or differentiate fact from fiction, it's not to hard to grasp.

and that's why so many kids are messed up as some parents cannot comprehend what kids can see and what impact it can have on them.

I don't expect any of you to understand, I don't know your careers and expertise - however I do know mine.

Batman Vs Superman is not a kids film. Will a kid be able to handle, sure, some will, but that's not the point. Anyways, we all got opinions...

from what I've seen with BvS, its less of a "the contents of this movie are inappropriate for kids" and more of the fact that its just pretty boring and kids will probably lose interest for most of it. My dad took my little brothers (9 and 7 at the time) to see it when it came out and they were just bored for the most part.

the two of them love all the marvel movies, like they're obsessed. when I bring up DC movies, they look at me like I bought them socks for Christmas.

The other thing to consider is that it's just the idea that he gets to say he played Batman. What kid wouldn't love that about their father? And he could always show his kids whatever scenes he feels is appropriate. And finally, someone could say they play a certain role knowing that when their kids are old enough they will be able to watch it.

Yes people need to remember while the ultimate reception was not what the studio was hoping for, there was a tremendous amount of hype around it pre-release, as evidenced by that massive opening weekend. One of my nephews was around that age at the time and I know he begged my dad to take him to go see it when it came out.

The content of the film might not be the kind of thing that keeps a child engaged, but kids are still gonna wanna see it because it has Batman and Superman in the title.

Pretty much this. The reason why it had a high first week gross because it was a movie about Batman and Superman.

Well I hope the next time Batman and Superman are in something that comes out in theaters, it’s something that I can enjoy with my brothers. I love watching them be so enthusiastic about Marvel, I want them to experience that with DC too. There’s a lot to love when you get these characters right.

I'm glad DC did something a bit more mature for a while. Variety is nice. BvS was rated 12+ in UK. I'm sure I would have enjoyed if my dad was Batman in a movie lmao.

Also if Ben really wanted this to be a kid friendly movie he wouldnt have brought on Chris Terrio as a writer lol.

Fact is, Ben’s busy for the next 4 years or so and Gal is probably shooting WW3 in 2023 and then Cleopatra in 2024. These actors are booked and Ben seems willing to go out with The Flash. Which makes me laugh when I see know it alls like Garza on twitter who have been acting like ppl are stupid for thinking Affleck is just gonna hang it up so soon.

People are biased and they want these Snyder movies to continue at any cost and still believe Affleck is gonna make a Batman vs Deathstroke mini series for HBO + JL Part 2 & 3. AND he’s gonna direct two films this decade and play the other roles he signed onto. OK sure. Whatever makes you go to sleep with a smile on your face I guess.

Yeah everything points to ZSJL been a one off, the budget for a sequel would be massive, Fisher ain’t coming back, Ben and Gal are booked up. Plus do they really want to keep dealing with the fan base especially now with all this Fisher stuff? Any chance of a sequel has gone imo. The best fans can hope for is comics and/or animation.

I’m way more excited for JL 2 and 3 as comic books. Zack loves TDKReturns and Watchmen so it would be neat getting a beefy graphic novel in just 2 years time that tells the entire story. You skip the controversy, you save a lot of money & time. Wanting more is kinda...entitled at this point?
