New timeline begins at 1973 and angel is born before that.

But why would Angel all of a sudden be born before that if all that time travel mumbo jumbo didn't happen, like you said in '73?

It's just a simply a retcon and there simply are no rules. Best not to think about it.

You know what would be twice as sad for Angel. If this was Warren worthington the first who fled america and ended up in this fight club. Then at the end of this he dies and if there was another OT film with Apocalypse we could get warren worthington the 3rd and apocalypse does the same to him. Tragic. I mean ovvy there are issues with the fact the first angel would have to somehow have to go back to america to have a child. But it would work if they wanted to show that the times of birth count. Having said that.... I dont really mind what its like now.

I imagine they are retconning angel into the 80s because they have no plans on doing an apocalypse story with the OC to bring back that version of angel

Seems to me that Singer and worse, Kinberg, just don't give (too much) of a darn about making things make sense.

There is no way that Angel should be a teenager to young twenty-something in 1983 unless he was brought back in time, which is very unlikely. But Kinberg wanted him in the movie so he just shoved him in with no concern for the timeline. And in my opinion that's terrible. Yes, we can look the other way like they are doing, but the point is we shouldn't have to!

They actually fixed a bunch of Last Stand crap with DoFP and now they are making more problems, and that's too bad. Hey, it is what it is, but IMO if they are willing to do something like this, which further wrecks the movieverse timeline, then at least make that character (in this case - Angel) vital to the story. And the moment I saw that Magneto is a Horseman it became evident that Angel/Archangel is going to be seconday and will likely not receive the focus that the Horseman Death should receive. And again, that's too bad!

What a missed opportunity!

I still hold out hope. He is afterall in the middle of that group shot in the Cerebro hallway. You can say he's the Queen Bey of the Horsemen. Or Cameron D in Charlie's Angels. :oldrazz:

Singer cares more about making a good movie than following the continuity of bad movies. We are getting an Apocalypse movie with Archangel. But things are never good enough. If they left Angel out fans would have still complained. And I don't want to see Angrl have a big role in this movie. He's pretty far down in terms of characters that should get development.

True. It kinda is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

And again I care more about Jean, Scott and Storm getting development than the rest of the horsemen. But I feel like even if the most minor character isn't three dimensional people are gonna whine (if he/she is a mute I would understand, otherwise no).

If changes made by Logan in 1973 works for past before 1973 too, then Banshee and Emma could be alive now.
Otherwise explain how Warren is born before 1973 or go fuc...yourself.

Easy to fix:

1- Ignore time stamps and final credits. They are not canon anymore.
2- Place the Angel flashback scene when he grows his wings in the seventies.
3- Just assume Angel is 18 years old in 1983.

That's it.

'Ignore' is for not using brain or people who doesn't care for this serie, or even X-Men. They just go to cinema, to have fun, and forget about movie plot after few weeks.
So I don't care about this 'fix'.

FOX could always remove the time stamps in the future to come. Time stamps can be removed, movies cannot be re-filmed.

I care... I'm the webmaster of this:

Not being OCD about minor details, and just enjoying the story, is not "not caring".

A Warren Worthington III that becomes Angel in 2000's and a presumably Warren Worthington III that becomes Angel in 1983 and born before time travel is hardly "minor details."

Ditto on two Emmas that can transform into diamond, and two friends of Xavier named Moira MacTaggert.

I wonder if Archangel or Angel is alive in the future period.

I hope he wont be killed in Apocalypse

:db:
Just forget "10 years ago" in X3'intro

i dunno why people think angel is 16 since he could be anything from 16 to 23

and being in a fight club at 16 seems hard to believe, at the very least 18 but probably not 16

18/19 would be perfect. Psyslocke : 21/22 :gngl:

Agreed

I hope that they do not kill Archangel or Psylocke, so that they can just be apart of the X-men world going forward. It would def be cool to see archangel with the new xmen such Cyclops, jean, storm, and jubilee.

Can't we all just say that none of the OT or Origins events ever happened and the timeline is completely different? Then we don't have to deal with any more redundant arguments about continuity.

^^^ That's the ideal but you know another continuity error(s) will pop up again in these new movies. Just the nature of the beast.

The only future timeline that exist in continuity and matters is the DoFP ending.

That's what I keep saying. But people keep complaining about stuff like Angel's age.

That's when you just stop bothering to respond to them.

They literally have the answer in front of them, it's their choice to ignore it for whatever their reasons are.

I can understand the complaints about Angel's age though especially when this younger 1980's Angel would've already been born before the time travel in 1973 happened.

But I digress.

You say that as if it's some flawless, irrefutable rule. It's a rule that was made up by this franchise after just the last movie...of course people have some concerns about it.

Its impossible to modify events before 1973. if Kinberg uses his intelligence

According to Kitty's explainations, they will forget this life and live in a new generated timeline, Logan will be the only one who can remember the OT and ignore new events since 1973 until 2023.

In Rogue Cut, Bishop Blink Sunspot and Warpath disagree with x-men sending Logan in past because they are born after 1973, they are afraid about modifying events after 1973

If you all can forgive the use of Jubilee and Psylocke despite having the same exact continuity issues as Angel, then you're really nitpicking for no reason.

Despite his limited role, Angel was way more noticeable. They also showcased him a lot in marketing like posters and trailers. Psylocke and Jubilee both had a blink and you miss it roles in the films that they appeared in. So its different in a way.
