You can't bring back a joke character like Trevor and try to pass him off as some other threat. What's done is done.

The Hype, there was a poll which asked for what you thought was the worst MS film. Though if you were to read the "Marvel's biggest slap in the face!!" thread you would think IM3 is the worst Marvel movie period.

lol guess thats a written fact since some fans on a messageboard think it is

It was probably due to the amount of characters in the movie in the first place. Hammer, Rhodey, Natasha, Pepper...

I need to watch it again I think. Sometimes I forget what actually happened.

Its also possible that Rourke is overrating himself. He may have had visions of going all Heath Ledger and dominating the film, and so started hamming it up figuratively. Only, Favreau never had the intention for the film to be anywhere near that villain focused, so. . .

The movie never really made it clear what Killain's connection to the Ten Rings was. Did he create them, or was he merely using their iconography for his own ends? That is a flaw in the writing.

I disagree. Seems to me it was left intentionally ambiguous to allow future filmmakers do decide how they want to use AIM and the Ten Rings for themselves.

Come on guys, there is no more "Ten Rings" in the MCU. That was debated in another thread to a pretty satisfactory resolution (to me anyway) The Ten Rings in IM1 was obliterated by Iron Man, the Ten Rings in IM3 is a newly emerged false-flag reproduction of the organization.

AIM on the other hand, has possibilities for being expanded. Perhaps they received funding from the modern day Hydra?

But see those little details that would normally be expanded upon through several comic books, I don't think will receive (or really deserve) that much screen time. For a film I'd rather have the time used up to giveus mmore details about the characters or more immediately relevant things. I definitely don't think Kingsley's new short will dive into any of that. I think that its more likely to be explained in supplemental material like tie-in comic books or something.

I don't really think there's anything to forgive really. It's like if someone took creative liberties with paste pot Pete or something

I think that if the Mandarin twist is straightened out, or double twisted, take your pick. The entire Internet would melt and be no more...

Marvel has nothing to apologize for on the Mandarin. I'm glad they did it and I look forward to seeing Sir Ben give us a wonderful performance.

If they do that i think everybody should turn their backs on them. That's not taking liberties thats flatout mocking and taking advantage of the audience. I mean we paid for an Iron Man film and we got Leather Weapon Bang Bang no 36564 and now they are going to undo their twist (which was enjoyable, stupid as hell but enjoyable) ? Iron Man 3 in my book is a dumb movie that you have fun watching. A terrible Iron Man movie and a very bad script considering the director/writer rehashed the exact same plot devices and elements from ALL his previous films. They did one ballsy thing and that was the twist. They shouldn't change it. I'm in for more Trevol Slattery, Ben Kingsley was awesome but no Mandarin.

I agree. I've said this elsewhere, but I thought the way they handled Mandarin was brilliant and unique, and my friends who don't know about the comics thought it was one of the best and most original things they'd seen in a comic book film in a long time.

Okay, I'm done doing this now: :bdh:

Whaaaa?

My opinion. Exactly what i believe about Iron Man 3. I enjoyed it but i also have many problems with it. I can defend the twist to the death but i can't stand Shane Black anymore. As a movie goer, Iron Man and ex-Shane Black fan i felt cheated.

It was certainly unique, I'll give you that...

Given that the movie made a ridiculous amount of money, got good critical reviews, and most of the GA really liked it, I kind of doubt that Marvel cares much that some internet fans, which are a TINY minority, didn't like the movie. For Marvel, it was a huge success.
