Pretty simple guy's you say which movie in your opinion is the best and worst of a directors career (Past or Present). If they're still maknig movies say which ones the best/worst so far.

E.g. Christopher Nolan:

Best- The Prestige

Worst- Insomnia

Quentin Tarantino:

Best - Pulp Fiction or Django Unchained

Worst - Jackie Brown

This thread came about after some of us were discussing Michael Mann's movies in his new movie thread so I'll do his next.

Michael Mann- Best one is tough but I'm going with HEAT.

Worst- Blackhat.

Zack Snyder

Best - Watchmen

Worst - Sucker Punch

Wong Kar Wai

Best - 2046

Worst - Probably My Blueberry Nights although i really like it.

Nolan
Best - TDK
Worst - Insomnia

Tarantino
Best - Pulp Fiction
Worst - Jackie Brown

Cameron
Best - T2
Worst Piranha 2

Ridley Scott
Best - Blade Runner
Worst - Kingdom of Heaven

Spielberg
Best - Raiders of the Lost Ark (imho)
Worst - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Raimi
Best - Evil Dead 2
Worst - Spider-Man 3

Verhoeven
Best - Robocop
Worst - Showgirls

I actually think Jackie Brown is Quentin's finest. It's his most elegant, mature, and sophisticated work IMO. Death Proof is his worst.

The movie (JB) does nothing for me, despite multiple viewings.

Christopher Nolan:

Best - The Dark Knight
Worst - Insomnia

Steven Speilberg:

Best - Jaws
Worst - Indiana Jones 4

Quentin Tarantino:

Best: Django Unchained
Worst: Deathproof

Paul Thomas Anderson

Best- There Will Be Blood

Worst- Punch Drunk Love

Martin Scorsese

Best: Goodfellas - Although for me it's tied with many of his others films, I'll pick GF for the sake of this thread.

Worst: Hugo

Paul W.S. Anderson
Best: Mortal Kombat
Worst: Resident Evil Retribution

David Fincher
Best: Fight Club
Worst: Alien 3 (I still like it)

Ahem, Michael Bay

Best- The Rock

Worst- There's a few but Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen takes it.

Tim Burton-

Best: A tie for me between Beetlejuice and Big Fish

Worst: Honestly... At this point he's put out a lot of uninteresting yet showy crap, but ALICE IN WONDERLAND probably takes the cake in terms of the dregs of his career.

Robert Rodriguez-

Best: Sin City, no doubt in my mind. Once Upon A Time In Mexico is just below it though.

Worst: Shark Boy And Lava Girl. His kid helping to create it gets no pass.

John Sturges-

Best: Gotta go with The Great Escape over The Magnificent Seven by just a hair.

Worst: Marooned. It's just lifeless.

Clint Eastwood-

Best: Gotta go with Unforgiven with White Hunter Black Heart and High Plains Drifter coming real close.

Worst: The Rookie. He was already too old for such things and it's a master trying to do the action films of the times with a tin ear.
