^The Nightcrawler scene is definately the best action scene in this franchise so far, along with Wolvie vs the soldier in the mansion. Thats been a big dissapointment with X3 and XMO for me, they couldnt top the best action scene's in X2, for me at least.

So I guess we can all agree that there's been some great fight scenes in these movies.

But do guys think that in general all these four movies have been lacking in the fight scene department?

I know I was disappointed with the fight scenes in X3. I also think that the fights between Jackman and Schreiber weren't as epic as they should've been.

Although now that I think of it...even though there's been some amazing superhero movies lately, there hasn't been that many memorable fight scenes IMO.

All the Spidey vs Doc Ock fights were great in SM2. Iron Man vs. Iron Monger was pretty good. Batman vs. Ducard was tough as nails. Hmm...what else? Well of course there's been great action scenes like for example Hellboy vs. The Golden Army.

So I guess the fight scenes in the X-men movies are fairing quite nicely when you put them in comparison.

I'm a Gambit fan, so I voted Wolverine vs Gambit. I think it's best fight scene there is. The fight with Deathstrike was very good too! It's a close second.

Wait, did you really put Jean vs. Xavier on the list? Does lifting a cripple off his chair with your mind and then turning him into nothing count as a fight?

What about Cyclops vs Deathstrike?
It was such a shame that it didn't last! You see him sharing a few punches and then Deathstrike took him out so easily! That was pathethic. He deserved a longer fight and he shouldn't have been taken out, just like that.
Singer gaved Cyclops short screentime in X2 in my oppinion and Ratner completely screwed him in X3.

...I for one can't understand how you would vote for the (in my eyes) cheese-fest that was Phoenix vs. Xavier.
Haha, I can't even understand why adding that to the Poll? It wasn't a fight, it was more like an argue they had and which ended up with Jean having him splattered all over the place!:)

Bryan Singer's original script for X3 was going have more screentime for Cyclops.

Here's the description for Singer's X3 script, taken from Wikipedia:

Though Singer, Harris and Dougherty had yet to complete a script, the director has revealed that at the time of his departure they had partially completed a story treatment for the film which would have focused exclusively on Jean Grey's resurrection[6] with the new villain Emma Frost, a role intended for Sigourney Weaver.[7] Frost was an empath manipulating Jean's emotions in the treatment, and like the finished film Magneto desires to control her. Overwhelmed by her powers, Jean makes Cyclops kill her, but her spirit survives and becomes a god-like creature, which Dougherty compared to the star child in A Space Odyssey.[8]

Agreed, Those action sequences from X2 never get old IMO.

Okay. He has room for Emma Frost, but not Gambit? WTF?!

It's not a matter of having room, it's a matter of who fits the story best. And Emma Frost did have a substantial role in the Dark Phoenix storyline which the end to Singer's X2 obviously hinted at for his X-3.:whatever:

And Gambit was originally in X-3, even got as far as having a guy cast and showing up in the movie trailer, only to have been edited out. I forgot the actor's name, but he was pretty vocal about it on here during the pre-X3 days when the teaser trailer hit. So looked like X3 had no room for him either.

A good writer will know how to fit a character into any story. I did not say that Emma Frost did not have a part in the Phoenix saga, did I?
I just really think that Singer didn't want Gambit in the movies for some reason that he wasn't actually stating. Or if he did have him, he would be a very insignificant side character.

A good writer writes a good story regardless of characters fans may want included.
If they fit in, that's great, but a story really shouldn't just be written to include a character.

IMO, I would not consider that to be a fight scene.

There are such things as mental battles, especially considering both characters are telepathic.

I still say that it could have been done, especially since it doesn't make a mention of the cure subplot, which took up a lot of time in the actual movie.
Well, I guess we're just not going to see eye to eye about this. Because I personally didn't think thay had to explore Phoenix in X3 at all.

Wow!! I think that is the first time me and you have 100% agreed on something.

Producers and directors shouldn't cater SOLEY to the fans. It just spells disaster.

I haven't seen ORIGINS but I doubt anything in it could top the amazing Wolverine vs. Lady Deathstrike fight from X2.

The thing that annoys me about the treatment of Venom is that he could of been a truly brilliant movie villain. To be fair, in the comics he is soooo shallow. But they could of made him great in the movie verse. You develop Brock more, Venom automatically becomes a better villain. It really is as simple as that.
