Which post-Beatles song from the fab four do you enjoy? I know everyone is gonna start either John Lennon's Imagine or Paul McCartney's Live and Let Die, but I'm gonna throw a curveball and start with Ringo Starr's It Don't Come Easy:

George - "Got My Mind Set On You"
Paul - "Live and Let Die"
John - "Imagine"
Ringo - "Photograph"

Favorite SONG? It's tough just choosing a favorite album from each Beatles, nevermind song. But, here goes nothin'.

John Lennon: Mind Games/Gimme Some Truth
Paul McCartney: Riding To Vanity Fair/Uncle Albert-Admiral Halsey
George Harrison: Give Me Love/She Can Take The Breath Away From Heaven
Ringo Starr: Step Lightly/Photograph

There are a lot of good post-Beatles songs:

George Harrison: My Sweet Lord, All Things Must Pass
Paul: Maybe I'm Amazed, Live and Let Die (which is incredible in concert!)
John: Watching the Wheels, Woman, Imagine, Instant Karma, Working Class Hero, Beautiful Boy

I like Ringo's It Don't Come Easy too.

The song Paul wrote after John's death, "Here Today", is a heartbreaker.

pretty much anything off of all things must pass.

Working Class Hero.

i always thought got my mind set on you was a pretty cheap song.

Wah Wah!!

McCartney: All of Band On The Run, Uncle Albert, Admiral Halsy...maybe Junior's Farm if it were a wee-bit faster.

Harrison: Ding Ding Ding Dong. I defy you to not like this song.

Lennon: I actually can't stand much of his solo stuff...too wimpy(and Phil Spector's over-production doesn't do him any favors), but Instant Karma, Remember and Gimme Some Truth are great.

Ringo: Have You Seen My Baby?(because Marc Bolan plays lead guitar on it), and i enjoy the Sentimental Journey album alot.

Lennon....too wimpy? You have listened to his Plastic Ono Band album, right? Where most of it is practically just him screaming?

That's actually the only Lennon album i care to listen to(if you notice, i said Remember is a great song). I have Mind Games as well, but i can't get through it. Aside from that, i don't really like his solo stuff at all. I just feel that a lot of his solo stuff lacked the balls you could find in his Beatles stuff. Just boring, wimpy, preachy music that I never really cared for. And I TRIED to like it, believe me.

Ah, okay, must've missed that. And you do have a decent point. Most of his stuff after the Imagine album is VERY pop-oriented (and he made fun of Paul, go figure), but I personally like it.

Different strokes for different folks.

Damn, that was not fun at all. You and me agreed to disagree in a respectful manner....let's start over shall we?

You have no taste in music!:argh:

:awesome:

Hey, found this on youtube. Love Ringo as much, if not more than the next guy, but this version is superb.

I was about to post that video Mr. Webs just posted. While Ringo released It Don't Come Easy, George was the one who wrote, arranged, and then gave it to him. So I consider it a George song that just happens to be sung by Ringo, no matter how awesome it is.

Anyway...

John Lennon- God
Paul McCartney- Live & Let Die
George Harrison- So f**king hard to choose just one for him, but it's either When We Was Fab, Cheer Down, or My Sweet Lord
Ringo Starr- Photograph

John- God, Just Like Starting over, God
Paul- Live and Let Die
George- Wah Wah, My Sweet Lord
Ringo- Photograph

Hehe, God is so awesome you had to list it twice, eh?:p

I believe some of Lennon's most heartfelt lyrics lay in this song. Gorgeous. Specifically the last half.

John Lennon said:
I don't believe in Beatles,
I just believe in me,
Yoko and me,
And that's reality.
The dream is over,
What can I say?
The dream is over,
Yesterday,
I was dreamweaver,
But now I'm reborn,
I was the walrus,
But now I'm John,
And so dear friends,
You just have to carry on,
The dream is over.

John Lennon:

I'm surprised nobody has named this one yet. Cheesy? No. Pure.

Happy Christmas (War is Over!)

And in a close second, Imagine. While I think think the philosophy and politics of the song are hopelessly naive, it is truly a beautiful and grand song.

Paul McCartney:

Live and Let Die

The Beatles obviously loved Bond. So it is only fitting that arguably the best Bond song ever written (Nobody Does it Better and Goldfinger are also great) was written by a former Beatle. Not only that, but McCartney goes way out on a limb from his usual style for this piece of pop brilliance.

And though a quite cheesy pop collaboration, this piece is intoxicatingly fun.

Say, Say, Say:

George Harrison:

George is interesting. While I'd say the two I named for Lennon and LALD is better than anything he did post-Beatles...he easily had the best post-Beatles career with the most grand material. So I'm going to name a few more than usual just in a list.

1. My Sweet Lord:

2. Awaiting on You All

3. All Things Must Pass

4. Beware of Darkness

Ringo Starr:

....eh. I love the guy and think he did great things with the Beatles and is totally underrated. A Little Help from My Friends, Yellow Submarine, Under the Sea? All great. But his greatest accomplishment, post-Beatles? Probably this:

Many are going to disagree but I really hate that song. It represents how big and full of it John became. Why did the Beatles break up? It is all right here in this song, not just his atheism, but his lack of respect for anything but "his pure love and ideology" that Yoko helped supplant into his monstrous ego.

I really dislike that song.

True. At this time, he was at his most egotistical. It was 'his' band, and no one else's. And once Paul kind of started becoming the driving force, it irked George and, more specifically, John. But on the other hand, if Paul didn't get them all together to work, nothing would've got done. George would've been meditating while John would be off making goat sounds with his wife.:o

Really, not one person or one thing is to blame for The Beatles breaking up. Just huge egos and forgotten friendships.

And no, the lyrics to 'God' might not be sweet, but they feel honest. And that's how a song should feel. Genuine.

Lennon - # 9 Dream, Love, Nobody Told Me, Watching the Wheels, Instant Karma
Paul - Live And Let Die, Maybe I'm Amazed, Band on the Run, Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five, This One
George - My Sweet Lord, All Things Must Pass, What Is Life?, Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth), Got My Mind Set On You
Ringo - Photograph, The No-No Song, You're Sixteen, Only You, Oh My My

It says a lot about Ringo that two of my picks are covers. :o
