Best Zombie Movie of All Time?!

1. Dawn of the Dead ( 1978)

2. Dawn of the Dead ( 2004)

3. Shaun of the Dead

4. Night of the Living Dead ( 1968)

5. Night of the Living Dead ( 1990)

6. Land of the Dead

7. Return of the Living Dead.

" 28 Days Later " is NOT A ZOMBIE FILM people !!!

Zombie = a corpse re-animated by chemicals, virus, radiation, or supernatural means that feeds on the flesh of the living.

Calling " 28 Days " a zombie film, would be like calling " Godzilla " a dragon film.

You just explained that 28 Days is a zombie movie.

I liked Night of the Living Dead too. The black and white mixed with the guerilla style filmmaking made it so damn good.

They still eat flesh. They die from the virus I think and are reanimated. Like the scene in the church when they're all laying there until Murphy says hello. Three spring up and look at him. I'm presuming they're dead first though.

They ate flesh? I thought they just threw up blood on you and ripped you to shreds.

I have to say, running zombie's aren't as scary. In real life? Maybe, but on film? No. Romero's zombies are exactly what zombies should be. Speaking of that, can't wait for his next Zombie film.

What about FiDo? anyone see that?

I also love Night of the Living Dead. Maybe it's just the mood black and white creates. Great ending too.

Edit: I thought by sheer ignorance that you said '28 Days Later', just because it's impossible to like the sh** you actually wrote :o

:D

Oh crap. I meant "Days."

Edit: Fixed.

Though I did like the sequel.

Thriller, Might be a music video but still a pretty damn good zombie movie just the same.

I know I'm in the minority but I will never understand why people liked the original Dawn of the Dead more than the new one. The new one is so much better in every way.

And actually if you really want to get into it, by definition we don't even know if the Zombies of the "Dead" series are Zombies either. Seeing as we'd have to know what it is that brought them back to life. And we never do. Plus, once Ramero gave his Zombies intelligence, according to definition, they were no longer Zombies. The word Zombie in pop culture continues to get redifined all the time.

I don't think it's true. It's not on the SHH! main page.

I don't like the Dawn of the Dead remake because I thought the last act was pretty weak.

Plus, other than being very well shot I really didn't feel like it brought anything new to the genre.

The Original Night of the Living Dead is the best Zombie film.

First off I'm going to ignore the godawful pulling out definitions BS. They are zombies get over it, just because Romero realized it's not important to say what caused them to come to life doesn't mean they aren't zombies. There are so many different takes on zombies that if we only made zombie films based on their actual original history they would primarily only take place in Haiti and involve voodoo.

Second, that's fine if you liked the remake more. I still found it to be a fun film but like I said in the past, aside from the fact that it was fun like the original and took place in a mall that's where the similarities ended and the remake fell.

Romero didn't need to put in a useless sex scene showing some bimbo's ******* swinging around as that scumbag was getting her from behind. I usually don't mind sex scenes in movies but I'm giving reasons why I felt one film is better than the other and the sex scene was rather pointless and tacked on. He also, with all of his zombie films(maybe not Diary since I haven't seen that yet) had a bigger more important message in each film that was relatable to the times they took place/were made in. Maybe it was because he actually had metaphors in mind that he didn't need to give a reason why zombies started coming back from the dead in the first place even though he gave hints in NotLD in regards to the news casters saying something about a satellite and radiation.

The remake was fun but primarily due to it being modern and more flashy. I honestly believe some people like the remake more simply because the original was made in the 70's and the look and style just isn't attractive.

Diary has an important message.. It just gets lost in translation.

Being a huge Romero fan is it worth checking out? I just hear mixed things about it.

Well if you are a huge Romero fan then yeah :P

It's not bad(imo)... I just don't like the "shaky cam" way of filming at all.
