Beware the Batman - Part 1

it is sad that this might get cancelled, but I'm sorry Green Day, Teen Titans Go! is awesome. A lot of the other shows on CN though, are not.

I'm sorry BMW, I'm not gonna debate your opinion, but I've gotta agree with the others, TTGO! just doesn't work for me. There's been a few episodes I really enjoyed, but overall, it has mostly fallen flat for me. I liked it when it was 3 minute shorts in the middle of Dc Nation, I enjoyed 90% of the shorts on the block, but in my opinion it didn't need a series, especially as, to me anyway, it still feels like rubbing salt in the wound of all of us that wanted a better conclusion out of the original TT series.

I never watched an episode of BtB, but I did enjoy YJ and loved GL:TAS and so I know this really sucks it is being pulled. For all of you hoping it goes to Nick or something, I'd not count on them to treat it any better. As mentioned above, the gave no respect to Digimon Fusion, and even though it has stayed on the main channel, their promotion of Power Rangers is abysmal. They'd rather run 4 hours of SpongeBob a day, instead of promoting anything worthwhile.

THAT I will give you. They honestly did hype up the return of Digimon, then they moved it to Nicktoons three weeks later! What the heck?!?!?!??! Now I have to watch it online WHEN they put the episodes up there.

And you're right, they should totally be promoting Power Rangers more. But no. THey rather have spongebob.

Batman WILL get another show. When he does I hope it's good and has traditional animation

From what was posted in the thread earlier it's more likely you'll see how Beware ends on DVD/Blu-Ray first.

That's just the first half, though. There's still ANOTHER set of thirteen episodes left in the season.

I wonder if they'll release THOSE on DVD first as well, which would be unheard of before.

I'm starting to think that CN execs didn't really care for DC Nation and WB pushed them into it.

Sounds more like it was a contract requirement/fulfillment

"You get to broadcast 10 episodes of Beware the batman after that we'll cancel it. Deal"

WB-Sigh, deal.

When do we get to see the remaining episodes? I loved this show ; /

I imagine it the concept of DC Nation (which is really great) was done for corporate synergy from WB's point of view and CN wasn't really feeling it, especially the more serious shows.

I was happy about DC Nation since it gave us a chance to see multiple versions of these characters in different tones and different styles in terms of design. Why just stick with one version when you can have so much more. Maybe if WB has pushed more earlier for DC-related live-action films, CN might've been more keen to the idea of DC Nation and actually keep it alive. Also, maybe it would've worked if CN had its own version of Disney XD.

Bottom line is that WB doesn't have anywhere near the amount of money Disney has. That's why they'll never be on even footing when it comes to pushing out their respective franchises throughout various forms of media.

Funny old business model, Viacom. For the kids: "Want new Power Rangers, here's SpongeBob!" For Black audience: "Celebrate New Year's Day with For Colored Girls and Precious double feature!"

The latter did happen.

Where do you get the idea that money is an issue?

I agree. Who else besides DC is pumping out 1-2 DTV animated movies?

With the end of "Beware the Batman" looming I have a feeling DC/WB will push for a cartoon that has Batman and Superman working as a team.

Something they can push when "Superman VS Batman" comes out

Plus, Marvel got Phase 1 firing on all cylinders a good deal before the Disney buyout.

I'm not really referring to whatever films they're pumping out.

I'm just saying if CN had it's own version of Disney XD, DC Nation probably would've been more successful there. It's not like WB (Time Warner) doesn't have the resources of having such channel if they wanted it. If they did, it'd probably be Boomerang. Much like how Toon Disney stopped just showing old cartoons became Disney XD or Nicktoons changed their programming to more current stuff.

Not necessarily. Invader Zim had something like 8 episodes that weren't aired until after they got a DVD release.

The crew from Beware actually pitched that as a series concept, but WB turned it down, saying that at the moment it "wasn't the right time".

There's a comic series for Beware? Didn't know that.

The front of the police guns look similar to Batman's EMP gun from TDKR.

Cool spoilers, like the small plot development regarding the Bat-family.

Sigh. Another year, another cancelled DC show. Anybody else getting the sense that whatever system they have for deciding which shows get cancelled or renewed is kind of broken?

It became broken the moment they consider toy sales a high priority than ratings.

That's been true since at least the 1980's for the majority of children's cartoons with a toy line.

There's no way, toy sales had anything to do with this. There were no toys for there to be sales

Beware the Batman was a subpar, mediocre Batman series.

And Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk: Agents of Smash aren't?

Except, you know, it actually was good. Not Batman: TAS quality, but at least decent.
