Blue Ambitions: The Beast & Mystique X3 Thread

I'd prefer for him to have the yellow eyes. It doesn't really matter to me if they cgi them or give him contacts. Just as long as it looks good.

I believe Kelsey has blue eyes. I guess to be accuarate they would need to be gold/yellow though. (can't have the folks stomping their feet about Beast having the wrong eye color). But I'm tired of gold/yellow eyes.

However, if they weren't so in-your-face gold/yellow it wouldn't be so bad. Perhaps a subtle muted amber? Or even leaning to a more copper color wouldn't be bad. I don't know, I haven't had my coffee yet so I'm a bit befuzzled.

is it just me..or did they plan to have at least one gold eyed blue skinned character in each film on purpose

CCONNSSPIIRRAACCYY OOO

I've been noticed that. Hell, I think Rebecca or Alan, one maybe it was both, joked that they hoped to have new members to their ''blue squad" in X3.

This is an awesome thread! Good job A1ant (and all the contributors)!

As far as eye color, I'd like to see blues personally...

Boris and Julie always do well, but their art is NOT made for Tattoos!

This thread is so offtopic(I'd totally nail Jean too)!
You know talking about the blue fur/cgi and such for Beast, they really made a casting mistake, they should of gotten Robin Williams. Think about it, for him all they'd need to do is dunk him in some blue hair dye, his excessive body hair will do the rest. :cyclops: [Ions is joking]
You, myself and one other person are the only people I know who honestly think Williams could do Beast. Not that I'm not happy with Fraiser-Beast. but Williams was my first choice.

I wouldn't mind seeing blue eyes, but here's the next question:

Should they make Beast's eyes cat-like, or human-like? You know what I'm talking about. The pupil of the eye? Are his eyes cat-like now (in the comics), since he went through that 2nd mutation, which made him look less human? Or are they regular I can't remember.

you can add another to that list..i always though robin williams was beast incarnate..not that kelsey is a bad choice hes an AMAZING choice..but i kinda had my heart on robin..i love the guy..watch good will hunting and tell me that wasint a good choice for beast

Yes, but Robin just doesn't have a very great voice for Beast. I wouldn't want to hear his voice come from Beast's lips. Kelsey's an AMAZING choice, and has the perfect voice to match.

The voice, yes. That would have been weird, but easily able to adjust to, [But I also have to deal with weird voices all the time anyway, so maybe I'm just easily adapting]. Williams, however, would have perfect delivery of most/all cornball jokes that we know and love Hank for. Again, I'm more than satisfied with Grammar, but Williams, in my opinion, would have dune just as well.

True, Robin would have perfect delivery on those lines, but just that's not the voice I hear when I read the comics. Neither is Kelsey's either. That honor belongs to George Buza. Heh, but we can't have him as Beast can we, since we had him in that oh so pivotal role of the truck driver.

Hahaha. Too true. In all honesty, most of the voices I hear when I read the comics are from the cartoon. Cyke, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Wolvie and Beast particularly.

Also, congrats on 1000.

It's funny how that works isnt it. I bet we all do that. I wonder what that type of "association" is called?

I know this going to be odd coming from me, one of the biggest Nightcrawler fans there is, but I can't really remember his voice from the cartoon series. It's odd, I have all these nice voices for everyone from the TV series, but not for my fav character. :(

I refer to it as "Character Association".

Nothing against James Marsden, but his voice doesn't seem as commanding as the voice from the cartoon. I know that one is a cartoon, and the other is real life, but it's just hard to get behind that voice. It doesn't scream "Leadership". I think that's the same problem I have with Halle Berry. In the comics, Storm is portrayed as a very strong woman, and no matter how hard I try, or how many of her movies I see, Halle Berry doesn't give me that vibe. Hell, I think Angela Basset does a better job at that. [Not to diss Berry, but that's merely my opinion.]

you know what else is weird..whenever a new show comes out and there was one already"I.E. x-men TAS then x-men evolution" i can never quite grasp the voices in the new show because i keep thinking they will be the ones from the old show..and once that shock of "its a new voice OMG" wears off..it just seems like the new voice is ammiturish in comparrison..even if its honestly better..i dont know why i think that

I think he was only in one episode, actually. He wasn't there a lot, so it's no suprise for you to not remember his voice.

Character Association.. makes sense, And I know exactly what you mean about James and Halle. I used to post on a Sci-fi board and when they argued about acting and directing and who who was bad or who was good, my main point was attitude. I know this goes to acting, but the main thing I would change about both those characters would be their voice portrayal of the character. Neither of them spoke in the mannerisms of their comic counterpart. I bet even the crappy lines that were used in those movies would have been 10x better had someone just showed James and Halle how to speak them better.

He was featured in an episode or two actually, just one he was important to the story. They screwed him over in TAS, but oh well, the series was still the best darn animated series X-Men could have asked for.

I had this same problem. It wasn't so bad with Evolution because the voices were still very similar. However, I will never except Bruces voice on The Batman. Kevin Conroy will always be Batman.

Bruce's voice on The Batman is very very....unique to say the least. Lol. I've only seen two episodes of that series. One with Catwoman, that was mildly interesting and another with Penguin and Man Bat, and that one was just insanely terrible.
