And that’s the key part here, “female lead;” not “love interest” for Batman. As I usually say when it comes to casting, we’ll find out soon enough…

Joker update -- and I’m going to have to be a bit cryptic here, sorry. I got to protect our insiders, so this is the best I can do right now. Just read between the lines. Anyway, it seems that one of the so-called “frontrunners” for the part, may not be in the mix any longer. Perhaps the Bat-folks aren’t interested any longer, or maybe he simply doesn’t want the role…

Speaking of The Joker, I’ve been told that another candidate has emerged. This actor has been rumored for a part in this film previously, but not for The Clown Prince of Crime. More on all of this later, so stay tuned!

Yep, it looks like the guy wh's being thrown out of the mix is Bettany. Jude Law for the Joker? He's a better choice for Harvey Dent/Two-Face or the Riddler than that. I don't think he's the one who's being considered for the role.

It's possible, but I doubt it. Hulme is supposedly Nolan's choice, and since I believe has the final say, it means Bettany is out, which is bad.

Maybe Guy Pearce is the new Joker candidate. He did get some run early on as a possible choice for Dent.

We haven't heard anything about what Chris Nolan thinks about who he wants to play Harvey dent. I'm pretty sure it's Liev Schreiber though because he looks the most for the part. He looks like Harvey Dent from The Long Halloween. I haven't seen him act but whatever. I think Chris Nolan's secondary option would be Guy Pearce and his third is Jake Gyllenhaal. I think Guy would have to gain a little weight for the role of Harvey Dent. Though it would be cool to see Guy as Dent, I doubt it will happen. It would be nice to see Guy make another movie with the Nolan brothers, after all Memento turned out to be a success.

Last time I checked the Joker doesn't talk with an ultra thick British accent.

I'm not dissing Law, he's a good actor, but Gyllenhal would make a far better Joker and has the look.

Gyllenhal has absolutely no characteristic of the joker of any kind!!! He has a ***** ass voice! He's face looks nothing like the joker!!! The mere sight of Gyllenhal in gotham city would only further turn on the 16 years girls of gotham city to rape him!

I strongly disagree with you. He has a creepy smile, he's tall, he's a great actor, he has the right facial structure, what more do you want. The only problem is that he'd need to lose the muscle he put on for Jarhead so he can get the tall, lanky look.

I'd prefer Bettany, but Jake would be awesome!

Oh, please. Law is just as popular with teenage girls as Gyllenhal, maybe even more popular. I have a friend who loves Jude Law. She'd love to have him as The Joker.
