The Dark Knight More on the return of Rachel Dawes

If Holmes doesn't return, I'd hope atleast that another actress replaces her. I don't want to see the character for forgotten about, without a proper explanation as to why she isn't in Gotham anymore. Jennifer Connelly was brought up as a possible replacement, which I wouldn't mind.

I don't like re-casting......for two reasons

1. It will cause an unecessary distraction to the film

2. Why re-cast for a character that is of no real significance in the big picture?

The way to make the Rachel Dawes character significant however, is to have her be killed or hurt seriously at the hands of the Joker.

I think it would be good idea if Joker kills Rachel, and Batman will get revange.

But then he decides that it would be better if Joker goes to Arkham.

And then Joker comes back in third film.

Agreed.

I could very well see Joker coming back for that sord of thing. But in my opinion if they don't end up going with it, I see him making an appearence again for being responsible for throwing the acid into Harvey's face as Goyer once mentioned. After is when he wants his revenge as Two-Face, and the two face off.

Ditch her.

Bring in Selina Kyle or Pamela Isley.

Rachel Dawes was probably the worst part of "Batman Begins" and now that Katie Holmes is the slave to Tom Cruise don't expect her to be going back to work ever again under his tight leash. :spidey:

Come on, n00b. Pamela Isley isn't even a love interest for Batman.

Actually I wouldn't mind a Batman movie that didn't have a romance in it. I prefer Bruce to have a constant flow of bimbos on his arm at all the big social functions.

AS for Rachel Dawes, she may have been the worst part about "Begins" but in a movie that good, that isn't saying a lot. She was the weakest actor but her character was likeable and she was nice to look at.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Rachel's storyline seems to be pretty well wrapped up at the end of BB. She doesn't need to come back. And it isn't worth re-casting the role.

Katie killed by the Joker please and thank-you

Bruce would also be great as the ultimate playboy that gets into scandals and gets ridiculed in celebrity gossip mags. He should have Paris Hilton on his arm as well as other bimbos :)

Dont even joke like that. Paris Hilton belongs no where near the Batman franchise, even if it's a minor cameo or mention.

Katie Holmes career at this point is that of Tom Cruise's something or other. Couch victim? She has been brainwashed by Tom Cruise, not exactly the most articulate person. What a bizarre spectacle for the world to witness. In the meantime, if they must bring back the role of Rachel Dawes (seems unlikely, the wind kind of sweeps her away at the end of BB) then a recast is definitely in order, I could live with that.

I don't like re-casts, but I don't like Katie Holmes. However, if they decided to re-cast her, there is one person who is being suggested for just about every role out there now, which is why my top choice for a new Rachael Dawes is.......Paul Bettany.

I can feel multi-orgasms all over the board.

Don't even kill Rachel. Just write her out of the movies completely. The relationship is done and can't go any further.

^Plus if she is out from the beginning of the movie, that would mean maybe a female villain in the movie somewhere.

I liked the character of Rachel Dawes and I had no major beefs with Kaite Holmes playing her. I want her in BB2 and then leave the seires - opening the door for Ms. Selina Kyle.

Same here.

When Master Bruce agrees with a Batman suggestion I know it has to be pretty good.

I had always liked the idea of Rachael being Joker's victim, making it a personal matter for Bruce to kick his Effin A. Then Selina would be good because Bruce would be in a state of extreme anger while Selina's all flirty. She comes on to him and he tries to ignore it for as long as he can. By the way, Master Bruce, I loved that icon of Bats you had with the Killing Joke Joker flickering in the back. It was awesome.

I don't want the movie to be another "oh, they wrote out the female lead and replaced her" type film. I think a film and or film franchise is much more respectable to have a real continuity in them, especially when Rachel was such a big part of his childhood.

The most desirable outcome would be a death at the hands of the Joker which will please both Katie lovers AND Katie (And Tom) haters. Joker will beat her to death like Robin while exclaiming something like: "The Joker did it with a lead pipe in the Billiard Room!" as one of his sick jokes.

Yes, and, like I said, would drive the character of Bruce to a whole new level of anger. Like you said, she was such a big part of his life. All the more reason why she should die, I think.

Her death at the hands of the Joker wouldn't please me at all. I just want her gone, OUT. No death, no nothing.

No more Rachel Dawes.

Agreed. The possibility of bringing her into the franchise toward the end of the sequel, is still open. Hopefully that rumor takes it's course and becomes a reality, if not then perhaps she'll end up making an appereance sooner rather then later.

I quote Miss Rawes, "Maybe someday when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see (Bruce) again"... what other explanation do you need... are audiences so dumb that they need an explanation to every little detail in a movie trilogy... producers do this to raise speculation... leave it open for possibilities... now that it looks like Katie won't be back... why go through recasting to further confuse a movie with another unecessary plot distractions that will just eat up valuable screen time... why complicate the Joker/Batman conflict (not that it wouldn't work but if it doesn't...) by Joker killing Rachael... just move on already... I'd much rather see Selina (KATE BECKINSALE GOD DAMMIT) or Talia (Keira Knightley) than the same boring actress Katie Holmes...

No more Rachel Dawes.

I would want this within the first 20 minutes of the movie. Get her out of the way and leave Batman pissed off for the rest...hehe or just have Gotham break out in a relapse of the Fear toxin...

They could just say they were having a repeat attack months after they thought they had cured it and a few people (like Katie who had a massive dose) still had some of it in their system and go nuts or die (creating more criminals).

Just like in the comics, its not necessary at all. Don't even bring her back. Just write her out and don't even pay for her cameo. It's that simple.

They could just say they were having a repeat attack months after they thought they had cured it and a few people (like Katie who had a massive dose) still had some of it in their system and go nuts or die (creating more criminals).

That's just bad, poor writing. And once again, not necessary. Just write her out.

I think tehy should go into why Batman has comitment issues in one of the films. If they do it in the next film they should have him ask rachael to marry him and she gets killed and in every relationship he has he's scared to get too close because he feels if he does something will happen like its done everyone he's loved.

I don't think that would work, honestly. Even if he were to ask, Rachel wouldn't say yes. She knows perfectly well why she can't be with him, or vice versa, so accepting to marry him after giving a speech about 'You're not the man I loved, He never came back, maybe when the world is safe and you don't have to be Batman anymore, I'll see him in you again.' seems a little out of character from who she was in Begins.

Unless she's just one of those women who can't make up her mind.

Rachel: "I want Bruce. No, I want Batman. I want neither. I want them both! God, somebody shoot me already! I can't decide!:("

Joker: "If you insist. :joker:"

*BLAM*
