I was up 'til 3 last night keeping on this, got about 4-ish hours of sleep. We are all running on lack of sleep or just stress in general. Its all good.
These door to door searches they are currently conducting, are residents allowed to refuse to have their home searched? Just out of general curiosity...
Just saw the father speak from Russia, like the aunt, he too believes they've been set up.
Lol you know there is someone with some illegal stuff in their house freaking out waiting for that knock.
They said on CNN that if a resident refuses the cops will get on the bullhorn and explain the need to enter.
Refusing to let them in given this is a state of emergency could lead to the resident beingcharged with obstructing justice. It would also make the authorities think you were hiding the suspect. No resident wants that so its best to let them in.

Yeah I get how it could look bad. But I assume they would need warrants to search if they aren't invited in.
I think it all depends on the situation. In some cases, all of that stuff just gets thrown out of the window. I mean if there was a fire, would you knock on someone's door so that they let you in, or would you just barge in?Exactly what I was talking about before. While I agree the authorities absolutely NEED to be let in those houses it's still a violation of rights. I'm really starting to think that balancing safety and security with freedom is just an impossible task. When serious **** goes down, it's like **** freedom and honestly, it kinda needs to be which is really the scariest thought of all.

Can't relate to the police in Boston though, or the residents in Watertown. I believe there was a poster here who lives in Cambridge as well who could hear a lot of the first sirens. Crazy.
