I actually hope the suspect isn't dead. I want these guys to be tried.
Several of my relatives have had police scanners for decades. Pretty common.
Interesting.You can buy them on the cheap at Radio Shack or any other electronics store and tap into police bands big or small across the US.

Do the police normally give out access to their scanners? The only time I've heard about that was in the Spider-Man movies.
