Superman Returns Bosworth nominated for a Razzie WTF?!?

Got it from www.comingsoon.net. It looks like it became a tradition for the Razzies to nominate actresses who look too young for their parts. They did it with Katie Holmes in BB and Jessica Alba in FF. I honestly think they sometimes confuse bad acting with miscasting. I don´t think she´s a bad actress by any means, but such a girly-looking actress should never be cast as a Pulitzer winner journalist with a five year-old son IMO - and I´m a defender of the movie.

Before someone asks, the Razzies are the Golden Raspberry Awards, a mockery of the Oscars that selects the worst of the year.
These things happen.

Oh maybe WB cares at a superficial level. Just more continuing bad publicity for SR. The slow drip, drip.Kate is not a bad actress - much better than Routh is an actor - but she was mis-cast in the role of Lois Lane and that is what the nomination is about - worst Lois Lane. I'd have to agree with that.

SR has really done nothing positive for Bosworth's career and may have hurt it some. Certainly it did not turn her into the big star folks thought it would prior to release of the film.

I'd like to know in her heart of hearts if she would just as soon get out of her contract to do a second film if they end up doing one. Her comments in EW did not sound too complimentary to the experience.
WB couldn´t care less that Katie Holmes got a Razzie nomination for Batman Begins. Say whatever you want of her in the movie, doing SR called A LOT of attention to her and the movie was successful enough to have more of a positive than negative effect on her career. Only if it was a major flop it would have really hurt her.

Man, that's too bad for Kate. She may have looked a little young but I didn't think her acting was bad. :csad:

I must say I agree totally with Katie Holmes and Jessica Alba's nominations. But not with Kate's. She was good enough.

Bosworth was fine. I would have given the Razzie nom to Spacey. He's way to good for that bland of a performance.

The Razzies have become a joke (and not in the way they intend) ever since they started trying to infuse social commentary into their awards (Tom Cruise for his stupid antics, President Bush for "Worst Actor").

Lame.

Every single person that worked on SR should have been nominated.

HAHAHA! you are electric.

but seriously, katie holmes was fine in batman begins, jessica alba was also good in ff except when she talked about all the science crap. she was not a convincing scientist, but she was good as a regular person, but i guess i can see why she was nominated. kate bosworth was good in sr, she was very convincing as lois lane. seriously, if they gave BB a razzie, even syriana which, was nominated for plenty of oscars, theyll give it to anything.

She deserves it. She was completely wrong for the part and just didn't work. But in all fairness it isn't all her fault party Singer's for even casting her in the first place. Just one of his many wrong decisions.

It seems to be the thing these days to nominate at least one actress from a superhero movie

Yes, she may have been mis-cast, but that doesnt mean her acting was bad does it, this Razzie is totally underserved IMO.

This doesnt surprise me. Bosworth was the weak link of the cast, she's a mediocre actress on a good day. Add to that it was high profile role and she was WOEFULLY miscast in it and it's magnified x 100.

A lot of the people who get nom'd for or win these things will actually go along with the joke. I think Halle Berry went and actually accepted one at the ceremony that she won for Catwoman, but I may be confusing that with someone else. It'll be amusing to see her reaction if she actually wins.

Agreed. I thought they really missed the mark with Lois Lane, not only with who was cast to play her, but the way the character was written as well.

Oh, she did, and she laughed at the Razzies and cried at the Oscars. :oldrazz:

Yeah, there were many jokes at the time for her, say, "intense" speech at the Oscar. I thought she was a good sport for going to the Razzies. But of course her best moment was making out with Adrien Brody when he won for Pianist...

Well the character was laughable and poorly done. I don't think her acting was god awful just mediocre like Routh. I don't think she should win but I don't think a nomination is crazy.

the funny thing is that he kissed her and she was in shock. so obviously she couldnt pushed him away so she played.

Well, agree to disagree, i didnt think she was that badly written at all.

So her sneaking her son with her onto Lex Luthor's yacht and putting him in danger for the sake of TEH $uper b0y plot point is good writing??? Ooookaaaay. And her going into a relationship so quickly Richard is under the impression that the kid is his. I am honestly getting sick of talking about the whole kid situation it just sickens me.

^Well we disagree, Lois has always been someone who would do anything to get a good story to me, also, it was better to take Jason with her than leave him in the car IMO.

She laughed at it later, I remember she watched it with Letterman on his show and said, "I look like I´m enjoying it!" It was even funnier the year after, when Brody hosted the best actress award and sprayed his breath before announcing the winner (who was Charlize Theron, BTW, frikking lucky bastard...)

Yeah i remember that, it was quite funny. Halle is a good sport and gets too much stick on these boards sometimes. Though i do think she should mention her scouse roots more!:cmad:
