Bought Thought 10.15.08

How the **** much do you spend on comics, wolves?

When did they ever announce that GOTG was cancelled? That never happened.

I hadn't heard that either.

Considering GOTG's SI issue sold within the Top 55, it seems unlikely that Marvel would announce canceling it, especially before issue #9 has shipped. GOTG has been outselling NOVA by a few thousand, and that book's been safe for a while.

Kevin Greviex[spelling?] is gonna be mad, and thats not a good thing for anyone at marvel LOL.

He could always find something else to write. The dude seems to have a genuine love of comics, so I doubt New Warriors was his one deal-breaking project. This isn't like taking Young Avengers away from Heinberg; he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would take his ego and go home to cry. He could probably write lots of other stuff well. Me, I quickly lost interest in his New Warriors because they had very little connection to the old New Warriors, whom I was a big fan of, and I've always been indifferent to most X-characters outside of the core X-Men. I can count the exceptions on one hand, and none of the current New Warriors were among them. Grevioux's writing wasn't really the problem for me.

I've still liked NEW WARRIORS. That said, the idea of #20 being the last issue isn't surprising. The sales were in the tank. At least he should get a few issues to wrap stuff up. And hopefully Jubilee can stay Wondra a while. It beats X-Limbo.

Grev is not gonna be mad...book prolly lasted a year longer than it should have. It was a good series and a nice run..ending arc is pretty decent and i think it will make for some good trades and probably be remembered as a "better series than the sales".

Plus Greviox has some BLACK MARVEL project and a few other things on his plate.

I'd like to see a Night Thrasher Mini.

I am I bit pissed that they didnt try a staff change and/or roster shakeup to generate some sales before axing the book.

Wow...all this talk about old cartoons is making me nostalgic.

I used to RUN home from school to watch:

Kimba the White Lion
Speed Racer
G-Force
Star Blazers
Johnny Socko and the Flying Robot
and Ultra-Man

Then Saturdays I watched the Herculoids, Blue Falcon, Sigmund the Sea Monster, Land of the Lost, and Electra-Woman and Dynagirl...and I was OBSESSED with Dynagirl. Pretty sure that was my first crush. Wow, always destined to be a geek I guess.

The Herculoids was before my time, but thanks to reruns I experienced their magic as a youth. Them, the Galaxy Trio, Space Ghost, Birdman, Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt, and Thundarr. Good times.

I think I'm through with Air. The first issue interested me; but, after reading issue #3, I found myself completely bored.

One thing the New Warriors did was reintroduce and strengthen certain characters that have been in limbo for a while after HoM. Jubilee is probably one of his better accomplishments. I loved her in the X-Men, and I thought he did a great job showing her as a hero, even without her powers.

There's some real lackluster characters in the title that I wouldn't be offended if they never showed up again. Chief among them are Kaz and Raz or whatever the heck their names are. I don't much care for Stacy, Angel, and Radian as well. And I liked Beak and Chamber better before de-powering (specifically Chamber).

However, I've really liked what's become of Jubilee (Wondra), Skybolt (Redneck), and Sophia (does she have a codename?). I'd like to hopefully see the 3 of them expand beyond this title. I really think they could become a presents if Marvel started a post-teen book like an Outsiders kind of thing. I hope something comes of them, I really do.

Sophia's codename in New X-Men was Winddancer...I miss her in that title. :(

That one I knew, I meant now that she's in New Warriors. Everyone else has changed their names, I assumed she had as well.
