Bought/Thought 4/29/09 Spoilers

Yeah, but it's clearly implied that he wanted to burn the ants, regardless of Glenda, when Ares keeps telling him what a wonderful killer he is. His mind flashes back to that for a very specific reason. The implication is that he's always been a killer on some level.

My avatar is from the game The Path, which is amazing. Buy it on Steam. It's only, like, $10. Be patient, keep an open mind, and think of it as art unfolding in game form--like Braid x 1,000.

Yeah, I suppose, you're right. I'm just trying to minimize the damage. :(

Hmm, I saw a trailer for the Path before but I didn't think it looked like much of anything. But I do like going off the beaten path in regards to my game purchase.

It's about as far off the beaten path as you can get. The thing that sucks about it is that I literally can't tell you much of anything about it without ruining the experience of the game. Best I can do is liken it to other things, so if you liked Braid, Pan's Labyrinth, games that serve a story first and foremost, or traditional adventure games, you should give it a try. I believe the devs are working on getting a demo made, but at $10, buying the whole game is not really a big deal.

I'm not a big fan of making James Rhodes a sociopath, either. It seems short sighted and cliche, making the ex-military "black armored guy" into an angry stereotype when he never was one in the past. It isn't even isolated to him, since Bishop has become a full on villain in CABLE. Hopefully this isn't a trend. Neither Christos Gage, Dan Slott, or Matt Fraction have written Rhodey as one in their books, at least. WAR MACHINE I have heard often feels like a throwback to the 90's, warts and all.

At the very least, WAR MACHINE is helping remind people that while Greg Pak is good, he can also have some major misses. This is the same guy who also wrote X-MEN: PHOENIX WARSONG or MARVEL NEMESIS: THE IMPERFECTS.

Well, I doubt the Imperfects was really his fault in particular.

Man, Marvel: The Imperfects looked like sucha awesome video game, to this day i dont understand how EA could have screwed that up.

Well, that's certainly the "internal conflict" I guess. I don't know, to each his own I guess.

Holy crap. That trailer was the least informative trailer of all time. Then I clicked on the link at the end and reading about it, it sounds really interesting. I think I'll buy it the next time I get $10 I don't plan on blowing on comics.

That's why I need the $10!

But holy crap, you're right... DAMN! I remember my mind being completely boggled when I first got into comics after a long, long time of not reading ANY. I was like, "What the hell? $2.25?! That's so damn expensive!"

Now I wish I could get comics for that price again.

Awesome, I hope you like it. Just remember, it's more of an interactive fairy tale than a "game" in the traditional sense. Don't expect to be fragging any giant wolves with grenade launchers or anything. ;)

Is that akin to METAL GEAR SOLID 4 being more of an "interactive movie" than a "game"? ;)

I started playing the game after reading this post and it's weird as hell, but pretty captivating.

Are
the scenes in garndma's house change depending on what objects I collect?

No, different items unlock rooms for different girls, but each girl always has the same three rooms. They relate to aspects of the girl's personality.

I don't know, I lost interest in Metal Gear Solid a couple levels into MGS2 and found I liked Splinter Cell's take on stealth action better. Barely played MGS3 and probably never will play 4 since it's a PS3 exclusive. I'm gonna guess no, though, since the parts of MGS4 you do play still look very action gamey. The Path is different.

Yea, I had much trouble with MGS4 due to the fact that I watched more of the game than I played.

90 minute cutscenes FTL. :down

yeah it was way too short. I mean it awesome that they can do that, but they forgot about the game part of the video game. totally not worth the 60 bucks.
