Are we having a post-Covid record of most new #1 in a row opening 40M+ with 3 weekends so far (Ant-Man 3, Creed III, Scream VI)?

Can it continue with Shazam 2, John Wick 4, Dungeons and Dragons and Super Mario the following 4 weekends?

I guess Shazam 2 and D&D are the questions for 40M+

I think it's a few factors - pent up demand post-COVID, fewer tentpoles in the marketplace, great reviews (Creed III), new installments coming on the heels of well-received predecessors (Ant-Man 3, Scream VI)...

All of this is adding up to some healthy box office numbers, and setting the stage for a very lucrative summer movie-going season.

Studios and exhibitors must be happy...

Shazam and D&D are a bit sketchy at the moment so I'm not sure.

Looking at the schedule, mid-May til the end of June has the potential to have back-to-back 40M+ openers.

For domestic the top 5 outside of Quantumania looks like they would be happy with their performance.

Summer should be interesting with so many high budgeted films coming out.

I'm interested to see who will flop and underperform.
