Welling's teen Clark was in senior year highschool in the year that 30 year old Batman Began.

Not to mention Smallville's reality is overloaded with krypto freaks, phantom ghosts, magical elements, bloomesday etc.. its quite far removed from Nolan's world.

Smallville is better kept on the small screen. I can't see Bale's Batman seriously co-existing next to their boyband JLA.

They should either use Bale and Routh; or reboot Superman and eventually have someone like Michael Trucco as Superman teamed up with Bale.

Unfortunately, I don't see Brandon Routh leading the most powerful group of heroes in the world. If they made him look a little older a little more weathered, somehow give him some gravitas then it could work. I don't want to have to wait till technology is good enough to make a cg Christopher Reeve.

Both Bale and Routh have said they wouldnt mind doing a JLA movie but the one that was presented to Bale and Nolan was crap to them so they both denied it and went as far as mocking it. So its safe to say Bale would do it if the script is good and Routh well he seems like he needs the job so he would probably do it when ever.

It doesnt matter now. Like Showy said, I think TDK has changed EVERYTHING that was planned before. I once thought TDK's success would inspire W.B. to make more C.B. films but now, I doubt it.

Maybe W.B.'s satisfied with TDK and don't really feel the need to make more C.B. films at this time. Who knows. I do know that Marvel was all over their other film announcements after I.M.'s success. That's one thing about Marvel, they sure don't leave their fans hanging like W.B.

Well being how Marvel doesnt have anything other than Comic book movies they had no choice but to announce it and even now it looks like thats all the movies have announcements

WB makes tons of movies so if they release 2 comic flicks a year thats more than enough for them but now with the success of TDK they can see they got something special at least with Batman so they will probably green light some of the other comic movies that are in development like Green Arrow and Green Lantern

It was sequel. Like it or not, characters have to be played the same if they're meant to be the same. Not that it was even that similar to begin with due to the writing. It'll be the same situation if they recast Joker. He'll need to look and sound like Heath did, otherwise there's no consistency.
