Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

I wonder if CW would do a Atom mini series for when Arrow & Flash is off air like Marvel is doing with Agent Carter.

I think a tight 8 episode Atom series which could feature a couple of supporting characters like Felicity and Cisco could work.

IF they were to do that, then they would have to start filming by early march at the latest in order to have an episode ready to premiere during the summer break.

I was wondering what happened with Kord, as I remember him being referenced on Arrow previously, but there was no follow-up. Just did a Google search and saw that he's off limits for the Arrow/Flash TV universe, since DC Entertainment "has plans for him." Interesting.

I just hope that they have actual concrete plans for him. Because he wouldn't be the first to be off limits just for nothing to come of it.

The weirdest thing though is that Snyder plans on having the Flash within the DCU, and yet that didn't stop Arrow's producers from using him on television.

I wonder if Flash appeared on Arrow before they had concrete plans. If so, that would explain it.

I feel like they could lose much of that gear on top and have a pretty good-looking and less cumbersome-looking suit.

I hope the producers have a backup plan for Brandon's character should the network choose not to order a pilot for the Atom.

That's exactly what I was thinking just a few days ago.
To "separate" him from the rest of the crew (as I suppose he'll be living in Starling if he stays CEO of QC or eventually move to CC to work for/ lead Star Labs) they could say he's teaching as guest Professor in the Ivy Town University (so you'd get a link to his actual home in the source).
I could see them reinventing Ivy as a College City (like Oxford or Cambridge) and introducing some students as supporting cast.
A guest appearance by Firestorm would also be possible if you get Dr. Stein to teach there or something.
Then just revamp a formerly lame Atom Villain from the 60s (I just read about some of those...Floronic man could be interesting) into some mad scientist/ criminal mastermind with a badass plan and let Ray investigate the case on his own.
8 Episodes or maybe just 4 or 5 (for the winter break) and we got ourselves some entertainment during the holidays and one more established hero in the CWVerse...

I'd love to see a manip where everything from the red A shape downwards is red (or mostly red) and everything from there up is blue apart from red gloves. This is a pretty cool looking suit, it's just that the right colours in the right places would say "atom" a lot better.

I don't mind the visor, but something closer to Flash's cowl or Cap's helmet would have been cool.

Something like Ant-Man's helmet would've worked better.

I like the helmet design in Pacific Rim.

yes this true the only to for him to be a public figure is if he has o ever et close to him which won't make sense also he really have to have say the president of the usa level of body guards which will shame diggle ( he has been that for a while) which will really be sad. but the fact that at any event he'll speak at like tech event people will be attacked cause he's there some want's revenge o Ray Palmer cause he help put them in lock up or ruined their plans he made him ad easy target cause he didn't care hide his identity. it will bring too much trouble to the public he'll have to avoid such events like being mentor head out to university lectors or tech events or major press company events outdoor or indoor to the public.

unlike how some certain writers at marvel or dc with the comic's that use selective reasoning & like to push that stuff, there is some level where this can be very limiting if this was the real world point of view. or be very limiting for certain stories to have ray involved in. He'd have to live like a hermit & not to in danger people so avoid human contact until some one or the city is in danger . that way he won't be the cause. they(writers) don't like that idea.

but it hasn't stopped certain Unreasonable writers before.
I don't see why it's so unreasonable for Palmer to have a public identity. He's a millionaire, I'm sure he can afford some extra security at his public appearances.

Link please...?? :D

Zack Snyder: "As we add to the Justice League we bring in some of the more obscure, like Blue Beetle or something"

You're welcome. ;)

Again, is bad writing when they do it in other mediums, is smarter to protect yourself and the people around you like Oliver and Barry are doing.

It isn't unreasonable, but I don't see it happening.

Maybe someone has already said this, but his suit really reminds me of the Ant-Man suit. I'm sure that's not intentional, given how similar their powers are, but that's the first thing I thought when I saw it.

First thing I thought of due to the black background and smoke was another Marvel property I've felt they've wanted him to be like.

so I guessing The atom is going to need body armor? I guessing the suit will make him stronger

Yeah it is weird how they pick and choose which heroes can have multiple versions running around and which cant.

As I've said many times, there is a prospective TV show for Booster Gold being developed on Sy-Fy. They likely want their TV Ted Kord to show up there, due to their comic history.

I don't know if this has been posted, but here's a pic of Routh in costume with a tinted visor, from the BrandonRouth.com Facebook page.

Hmm...I wonder if that's for a photo-shoot or an actual episode that they're filming.

I don't think they're filming the Season 3 finale yet, so that bodes well that we may actually see Atom in action before the finale.

However, the last time that I checked..Brandon only has 12 episodes under his contract. And so far, he's appeared in 8 episodes...9 if you include tonight and 10 if you include next week.

I don't think his trip to "The Flash" counts on his 12 episode count. So he only has two episodes left after next week on Arrow.

like Mikelus said it's better not to endanger them/ the public from the get go & look how fast oliver lost his money yeah he's a billionaire not a millionaire & just cause your ether it's doesn't mean you can't loose it all or toss all to the street and never ever run out or you'll ever lose period .

that's also not a guarantee that your body guards which you obviously didn't give your High tech gear or weapons to which you've most likely saved for your self alone, cause you never know which of your own workers will go bad on you .

Ray isn't tony stark he's not a former merchant of death that realized his stupid mistake ( his ego was in the way of ever chose he makes) dropped everything like running his company to take back all his tech that he put out or will be potentially stolen which tony also had to do which tony left all those public talks to pepper pots or when he does show some to event's stuff happens like with whiplash during formula that one event which starks security couldn't stop it at all til he him stepped in, but that still doesn't stop people that came to enjoy the event of racing from being put in the hospital cause the person that attacked the event did it all to make tony pay with the publics lives .

see the issue here ? Sorry some times public Identys make things worse the only ones that are truly thrilled by them are certain writers cause it allows for more chaos cause the hero really wasn't thinking straight or is both to jerky & stupid socially to have that thought come into his /her head & events like civil war happen where they become the villain.

All cause it's controversial which some certain writers love. Now in some cases it's good to explore this so you see what it cause's you & "say see the mistakes here? but not everyone or character in this case should do it

which alot of writer's are starting realize doesn't fit every character half & half fine it fit's some character but other have to take a different path do to how they live their lives but for alot of other characters it can be restricting ( they can only used in certain types of story's due that ) or just doesn't at all if they aren't fully in the same position .

everyone can't be tony stark.

They can be like Micheal Jordan though.

I get that everyone can't be Tony Stark. But everybody can't be Batman either. Arrow already has its star in the "I must keep my identity secret and distance myself from the ones I love" role. Ray's arc will be much more interesting if he becomes a public superhero rather than a secret vigilante. Espically if he gets his own show, Atom has to be different.

And like Human Toch said, I'm really hoping that the SyFy Booster Gold series pans out, because its ridiculous that we canhave two different versions of an icon like The Flash, but not have multiple versions of B-list fan favorite like Ted.

that part is not working well for him "show wise" with the silly loop hole of his hq of his & how easy it is to break into it. I'm just happy he'll finally tell thea cause a mac truck had an easy to bust through that silly barrier of a lie he made . cause ollie couldn't be bothered to have a club office room with a secret passage way that lead to the arrow lair. & better security lock then just a touch tone phone one styles one . seriously bio metric's ask Argus via diggles soon to be wife the former security guard should ask that too. it';s too late now I hope she join's another agency
