Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

Fantastic. He's got that really friendly, huge grin that makes him perfect for a superhero. Plus, he's more of an age with Stephen Amell (And Henry Cavill if needs be).

Routh seems like a genuinely nice guy. So I hope this goes well for him.

Glad for Routh! I've always really liked him. It's going to be so weird seeing a former Superman playing another official version of a DC Comics hero.

As a fan of Arrow who not only liked Routh as Superman but also Superman Returns; this is great and unexpected news!

I'm sure the two might not have anything to do with each other but it is interesting that WB/DC are bringing the Atom to life at the same time Marvel are doing so with Ant-Man.

WB have been mulling whether or not to possibly add tv's Green Arrow to the Justice League movie roster. If Routh is succesful i wonder if they'll consider doing the same with his version of the Atom??!:wow:
I'm just going by whatever pieces of evidence is there. I mean, I do look like the typical Marvelite (shhh don't tell anyone :oldrazz:) going off like this, but it's the same situation with studios suddenly wanting shared universes after Avengers, Fox wanting Quicksilver immediately after Whedon confirms he's utilising the character - thus spanning months of arguments only for DC to move in and announce a Flash TV show, and now this?

^Now I just went full Marvelite :csad:

The Atom was created before Ant-Man so maybe things are as they should be.:oldrazz:

I hope this leads to a career resurgence for Routh and possibly an Atom tv show.

This disappoints me. If they're not bound by the film world, they should be allowed to use whoever they want.

Instead of Batman they can do say Nightwing. Supergirl or Superboy can take Supermans place. Or get both Supergirl who can replace Wonder Woman & Superboy can replace Superman

This is great news. I've always wanted to see a horrible actor play Ray Palmer.

I agree with you there. Well maybe at first they could form a proto Justice League, with Arrow, Flash, The Atom, Canary and others. The trinity can be introduced later on

Maybe they can bring back Dean Cain as Superman lol

Couldn't agree more. :cwink:

:hehe:

On the other hand, before this announcement, I was kind of sad that the Arrowverse wouldn't be connected to the DC movie universe.

Now I'm glad they won't be connecting.

Brandon Routh will make an excellent Atom. He's not a horrible actor. Not the best, but not horrible..

Ya I agree. I don't want Snyder ruining the potential the DC/CWverse has with his ****** storytelling.

How dare you use such language when talking about our beloved god Zack Snyder? We have no time for thy kind. Arrow fans bring nothing but filth.

:o

LOL

I like both Arrow and the Snyderverse but I just think Routh is a sh** actor. I'll give him a chance though. Maybe he's improved since SR.

More importantly, maybe this means his hottie of a wife, Courtney Ford, will show up on Arrow. THAT would be awesome. She's actually a good actress.

I take it Atom won't have powers...mainly because I don't see them making him all energy for the show :)

A well fed Superman? lol

Cain is in his late 40s but he still hasn't gotten rid of his (for lack of a better word) *****voice.

Maybe you're thinking of captain atom? The atom just shrinks, shrinking effects aren't impossible on a tv budget

Everyone is talkig about routh, but guys! Were getting a live action version of the atom!! How cool!! I hope they stay true to his costume as much as they did with the arrow and flash suits

He is more natural and confident in some of the independent films he appeared in.

Facial hair and extra weight make you look older apparently

He would look younger dropping 20 pounds and shaving the facial hair. I guess he's just happy being a Dad though.

Like I said in a post earlier Routh's Ray Palmer is the third time we have gotten a live action version of him.

Anybody remember back in the 70's a short lived show called Legends of Superheroes. Then there was the Justice League TV series that never made of past the pilot.

I was wondering, did the announcement say ANYTHING at all about him being the Atom, or does it just say Ray Palmer?
