Does Mad Men ever really get bad? I remember earley in their runs everybody talking about Mad Men, True Blood and Dexter, now that they aproach the end it seems like almost nobody notices them, the light seems to have gone to Breaking Bad's final Season, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead

Calm down,
)i mentioned because it's one of the shows rising far in popularity, the first episode of season 4 had 16 million viewers and a lot of people talk about it, in the same way many talk about Game of Thrones and were talking about BB in its final year.
But i'm in the camp that BB and GoT are in a level above WD, which is a show that i see is getting worse the more it stays away from the comics, with the only real great original element being Daryl.

Mad Men has never been a colossal hit ratings rise. It's averaged about 2-3 million rating rise over it's run, which is great for a basic cable show, but you know, it's never been a Walking Dead phenomenon where it averaged near-network level ratings on a consistent basis. It's also talked about, but it's not on-air currently, either, so I'm not sure exactly what you mean.
I never said it got bad, just asking if it ever gets bad, for people to mention it not being as consistent as Braking Bad or Game of ThronesAs far as it getting bad, personally, I don't think it's ever been bad. For me, season 4 was sort of the peak of the series, but 5 & 6 were still quite excellent.
Early Mad Men was very talked about, many have even said that it was making the 60s fashion return, but it seems that nowadays not as many talk about it, and i'm talking about the last few years, not the last year, i'm not talking about ratings, it just seems like early on there were a lot of people talking about it and that after around 2011 nobody really mentioned again.

Mad Men has had bad stretches, yes...
Mad Men never gets bad per se. Perhaps a little stale and tired.
I don't want to get anyone angry but I just don't see the big deal about Mad Men.
I often have to pique in about Mad Men, because it's my favorite show, but as I tend to always say this: it is a pure character-driven drama. That's not to say shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones aren't character-driven dramas, but they are very much also driven by traditional action, too. They strive to capture Hollywood-like excitement along with the drama and character. Mad Men just doesn't do that, and that leads a lot of people to see it as dry or boring. And that's fine, it's understandable, that's why I always caution a recommendation of the series to anyone, because it's probably not going to be the mainstream viewers cup of tea.
The big deal, though, is the amazing writing, the true to life characters, and the powerful literature-like subtly at which the characters evolve, and the capturing of an era of incredible change in history.
